I went to my local beer store the other night for the first time (I frequent the liquor store - we cant sell both at the same store here in TN) and picked up some Hoegaarden because I saw it mentioned here somewhere. That's some good shit. My new favorite beer. Thanks for the reco.

edit: a "friend" invited himself to stay a couple nights here on Tuesday. Every time he opened the fridge he'd mention something about the Hoegaarden but I kept ignoring him. Finally, last night he said, "uhh...mind if I have a HOE-GARDEN?" and I was like "shit!" and then when he came back in the living room drinking it from the bottle I was like "shit!".
Poor guy. Thought it was Budweiser or something.

I've never had this before but I had some oatmeal stout back in '99 and was hooked ever since. I'm trying to branch out a bit.

try Wolaver's (Organic) Oatmeal Stout... its a bajillion times better

Not sure if it's been previously mentioned here, but Mannekin Pis is awesome! Derick, some friends and I were hooked on it last night after trying it. Mannekin Pis >>> Hoegaarden, I dare to say.

Yes it's named for the lil peeing boy statue. And so was banned from Ohio due to the label depicting the statue.
