Oh yeah...less than 75 tickets remain..

But I digress, I tried to get a room in the Artmore about 10 minutes ago. Nevertheless, the only thing they have left is a Loft with one king bed and well, I am not sleeping with another guy and it is me and my buddy coming. So we are thinking of staying at W Atlanta Midtown. It is the closest to both the Venue and The Artmore. Is anyone else staying at this Starwood hotel?
Looking forward to partying with everyone.

Last I heard, the Residence Inn still had rooms available, and it is cheaper than the W, and closer. Their singles have a regular bed and a sofa bed. Plus there will be a lot of people from this board staying there, and they also have a patio where some partying commences (though not nearly as much as at the Artmore).

My question for you is what is this Sym X fan club luncheon?

You should see a post on here in the next day or so talking about it. I won't go into details because Jax will do that herself.

It's a yearly luncheon for members of the Symphony X fan club (it used to be called Church of the Machine, but it's undergoing remodeling). Anyhow it's held at a midtown Atlanta restaurant within walking distance of Center Stage. I don't think you really need to be a member (they don't check) so if you want to go, I don't think they'll mind. You pay for your own lunch just like you would anywhere.

Like I said, details on this year's luncheon are forthcoming.

I am sure you asked, but just in case...last time I had a King bed loft room it had a sofa bed also.

My bro and I stay at the W Midtown. If you are familiar with the brand then you know what you get...top notch, very trendy, flat screens, etc...plus not a bad walk to Center Stage. In fact, it is nicely situated between the venue and The Vortex. You will not be disappointed. :kickass:

Indeed, I know what you mean. However, I don't plan on spending too much time in the hotel. I have never been to the vortex but I shall check that out as well.

Welcome! I will be getting together a group of ProgPower people to eat lunch at The Vortex (Peachtree Street location) at Noon on that Saturday, if you want to join us? :) That of course goes out to anyone here... just let me know so I can get a rough "headcount" to let the restaurant know we got a big group coming!

You can count my friend and myself in on this endeavor. This seems to be super fun.

You might want to start your own thread on this to get more exposure. :)

That's how you spot a first timer.
Don't worry my friend. You will most definitely find plenty of groups to party in Atlanta. There's no ProgPower without partying.
The Artmore will be the place to be, guaranteed.
Yea, no worries there, dude. You will see people roaming in black band shirts everywhere you look and much partying going on. The Artmore is only about a block and a half up Peachtree from the venue. Here was the courtyard last year, early in the day. Nice place to party.

As for the SymX fanclub luncheon, I'm fairly sure anyone get go. Jax will be sure to post something soon. Here she is (red hair) with me in the courtyard.

Well that would be a good idea except I just found out that the restaurant doesn't accept reservations even for large parties, so although anyone is more than welcome to meet up with my group of friends at that time at that location I can't guarantee we will all be able to sit together or be seated at the same time. They will do their best. It is first come, first serve kind of establishment. That could be a logistical nightmare if like 50+ of us show up & personally I'd like to get out of there in time to see the first show...so we'll keep it hidden within this thread, ya cool with that? :)
Although a restaurant being overrun and taken over by ProgPower patrons would be fun (muahhahaha) ....if we manage that, it is just one step closer to ruling the world!!

If i remember correctly the place is open until 0300 and the last call for food is 0215. So I say we go afterwards. That still gives us like 2 hours. I don't know, just a suggestion.

I'd go normally but the SW show is at 1pm.

And The Artmore is the place to be for "after hours"!! You will see!!

I am the newbie, I will take your word for it.

After the shows let out, attendees AND THE BANDS hang out in the courtyard at the Artmore. PP USA is probably one of THE only places where you can hang out with the bands and are really cool about it. One of the many things I love about this fest! :kickass:
