Porcupine Tree - In Absentia

Listened to this one a few times. It is rockin. The first track has a badass riff to it. Sounds cool. Balls and chunk is where its at! Most of this album is pretty mellow, but the songs are great. Steven Wilson is erally impressing me with his work with Opeth and now PT. Watching the documentary on the Opeth DVD gives great insight as to how brillian a musician Steven Wilson is. The songs on In Absentia are so easy to listen to. The chord patterns are very classy. Is there any other PT albums I should check out?

Evergrey - The Inner Circle

This is pretty cool. Have heard of these guys for a while, but finally checked em out with their latest album. Very, very dark theme. The album is about Cults and cult leaders. The lyrics as you would imagine are very dark and lend themselves to some very emotional singing. I am definatly going to check out more of these guys. The samples the use work really well within the songs and the harmonies are cool. The chick singer used on a track or 2 is very refreshing as well.

Opeth - Still Life and Morningrise.

Had Still Life in MP3's. Finally ordered it. Awesome album. The moor is fuckin great. was great in concert and is great on the album. Morningrise was the only Opeth album I didnt have so I got it. Very different to the albums that follow. Lots of twin guitars and shit like that. To Bid You Farewell is one of my favorite ever songs, so it was worth it just for that.

Frameshift - Unweaving the Rainbow

Have only spun this once so far so it is hard for me to really give an accurate description. But I was very impressed with James LaBries performance. I have never really heard him sing like this before. Certainly not for a long time. On first spin, the standout track was La Mer. He sounds killer

Do you have Frameshit, The Inner Circle and In Asentia?

If you do, and you don't like either of them, then that must make you better than me.

And because you dont listen to Opeth anymore, that must make them shit?

No, I have heard them however, nothing special.

You know it's true.

I never said it made them shit, I implied they have gotten somewhat boring.

Ok.

I think In Absentia is cool. I am also diggin Inner Circle.

As I said, havn't listened to Frameshift enough.

I know I love Still Life, and havnt gotten fully into Morningrise yet.

Will see how I go after a few weeks of owning the albums

You will get bored and return to your previous wankery. Porcupine Tree are the next triple j fanboy band.

They will tour with daysend, and it will provide with me a good opportunity to rid the world of a whole social group of people I don't like.

ANFO is quite simple to make.

Actually, Seasons in the Abyss wasnt there.

I did see Reigning Cats and Blood, but couldn't remember if you told me stay away from that or not so didnt get it.

I am going to get Lacuna Coil soon though, so there may be room in my budget for a few other albums.

Oh yes, Blackened Eyes is an awesome song. Was the first P'Tree I'd heard and to be honest, I was a little disappointed when the rest of In Abesntia didn't follow suit. It didn't take long to massively grow on me though.

Evergrey - The Inner Circle

Nice review on this - it sounds great. They're on my 'I really must check this band out soon' list.

Opeth - Still Life and Morningrise.

I've got to get around to getting these as well, I've got them on mp3 too. They never seem to be in shops though, all they have here are Damnation and Deliverance when I go looking...

Frameshift - Unweaving the Rainbow

Ahh, MUST get hold of this.

Stupid UM not taking posts. I can't be bothered editing.

Orchid, Morningrise and My Arms, Your Hearse are the only Opeth albums I really rate. I care not for any of their stuff after that.

rl!

It was probably wise to stay away from Reign In Blood :) BUT GET SEASONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Porcuping Tree is a seriously gay band name. I'm sure their music's great though! :)

Opeth rule. All their stuff rocks, but particularly MAYH. The title track on the Deliverance album is awesome too.
