Old School Deathmetal!

I just posted something about this on the other side, but I'll ask here too.....
I'm not a death metal die hard, but I do enjoy it once in awhile and I always considered Grave as my favorite. I never hear anyone talk about them though. Are they written off by true death metalers? Why are they never talked about?

I can't speak for everybody, but they just aren't that great imo. I didn't even like them when they first came out.

There are much much better bands from Sweden than Grave.

I believe it. I just think the song "You'll Never See" kicks ass.
I just can't buy into the death genre. I mean, I have no problem with the vocals, but they all sound the same. You could put almost any death metal singer in any death metal band and nobody would know the difference. That I have a problem with. I dig the music and the energy though.
Of course I'm talking about the death metal bands that don't use clean vocals too. I'm guessing there's probably a lot more to death metal now than there was in the early 80's when I was listening to Grave, Dismember, and later, Six Feet Under. I'm not quite up to par on it anymore. Is Opeth considered death metal? If so, death metal has changed alot since the old days. While I don't think Opeth is as great as everybody else seems to think they are, I do like them and I certainly can't deny their talent.

I'm probably just too old.

Opeth sucks, and they really aren't death metal. People allways like to say they are, but its just not the case.
