Old school video games sound

I've been asked for doing a 1 minute song for a video game. It must be those kind of retro sound of 8 bits, spectrum, commodores.... 80's videogame sound.

Is there any tool to convert from midi to that sound? or any other as the old PC trackers (Fast tracker, Scream Tracker...)

DeLamancha makes several old 8 bit sounding things - might be a great place to start.

Another developer to look at would be Tweakbench - several items should give you the sound you are looking for.
