I heard that Opeth would be playing in the US sometime, in November, I think. Does anyone know about this and what the possible tour dates might be? If they do come, The Palladium in Worcester, MA is a must!

There is a rumor going around that Opeth will be doing a headlining U.S. tour in November after the new albums are released. As far as I know this hasn't been confimered yet, but I fucking hope it's true.

I asked Mikael about this, and he said that it's not true. Also there is a rumor about an Italy festival that is apparently not true either.

I was like "are you sure?, maybe you just don't know about the states tour yet??" (ha, desperate I know) but ... alas.. he still said they are not doing any November US tour.

Yes - The Palladium is a great place to see great metal.

Saw Hypocrisy/Soilwork there a week ago. I had tickets but missed Opeth's May, 2001 tour with Nevermore. I would say the best metal concerts I've seen have been at the Palladium, although I saw Enslaved at Jarrod's in Attleboro.

BTW - are you closer to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun? Mohegan Sun rules!!

I was at that show as well. I live in the same town as Mohegan Sun and my summer place is in the same town as Foxwoods. I was actually just at Mohegan Sun a little while ago, chit chatting with some people, having chai tea..hehe. Maybe I'll see you at the Arch Enemy show at the Palladium in August? :)

Possibly.

I've been to the Palladium quite a bit lately.

Ugh.. Jarrod's sucks as far as sound and viewing space goes. I went there with my ex once when Candiria and Clutch were playing because we got in free from our friend at a radio station... It wasn't even worth being there because I couldn't hear shit and half the area is blocked by a wall so you can't even see the bands. (of course, being short doesn't help either)

being from the midwest blows.....i would love to see them but i am sure they will never perform anywhere close to me. but if they do my ass is there.

The Palladium in Worcester, MA is one of the best places to see a show. It is an old classic theater and has a very intimate feel to it and you can get very close to the bands. I saw Opeth there on the Nevermore tour and it was one of the greatest experiences I've had at a concert. I was 3 feet away from Michael and the band! The whole show rocked! The bands were God Forbid, Angel Dust, Opeth and Nevermore. What a show!! I saw Peter shopping at the mall next door. The Palladium is a must stop for them next time they come to the US.

Are you sure he didn't think you meant THIS November? ::crosses fingers:: Why else wouldn't they tour after a 2 CD release? They did after their last ONE. I was thinking November 2003. Oh, man..

I should know better than to get my hopes up about news like that. I'm not going to write it off completely though. You yell real loud in here, redblueyes, if you hear anything different. K?
