Opeth solos

On my opeth live video, Peter takes the second half of the White Cluster solo (the part I wanted to watch closely, but the camera stays on Mikael)..

I think he's an excellent guitarist. I couldn't play that shit ;)

From seeing them live I can tell you most certainly that Peter does solo, and that the solos that he did play seemed to be the most challenging, technique-wise. Mikael does seem to do more solos than Peter, though.

If you just listen to Opeth, you'll gonna realize, that there aren't "rhythm" and "solo" guitarist, they both play both.

That's pretty much what I thought, although I've got no videos and never seen them live.

Does anyone know who plays the solo in To Bid You Farewell?

Exactly, it's not like they're playing straight bar-chord rock where you have a rhythm section and a lead. It's melodic all the way through and a hybrid of polyphonic and melodic guitar lines all the way. There aren't solo's as such apart from a few instances.

Mikael does the majority of the solo's but peter plays the weird and wacky ones....for example white cluster stuff.
Plus through a few solo's they play 2 different solo's in harmony.
Fuck they fucking amaze me....heheh

I downloaded a whole set (Fucking BIG download!) and there were parts when it was only Peter playing.

Mikael stood there, kind of throwing his head back and forth, getting ready for his part (Guitar/vocals).

They did it several times throughout the set.

And Hearse is right.
