Opeth US tour History

My friend and I had an argument the other day over how much Opeth have toured the US.

I thought it has been rather sparse while my friend contests that they have toured the US extensively.

I thought their first US gig was Metalfest 2000 and then the only tour they did after that was 2001 with Nevermore for Blackwater Park (which wasn't that long of a tour if I remember right.)

Can someone shed the light here?

They did a couple of weeks with Amorphis before the Nevermore tour, but it was essentially the same trip over for Opeth.

Yes, they haven't toured here much. Mikael and Lopez wanted to tour a lot more here.

They played the Milwaukee show and went home right afterwards. For the 2001 tour it was a total of 6 weeks (touring with both Amorphis and Nevermore) and they toured in some pretty small places in the midwest...like Kansas...who the hell lives in Kansas anyway? But I think that's why they are playing so few shows this time. THey are probably only playing the places where they had an excellent turnout.

The 2001 tour included a Chicago date at the House of Blues...I was there , so it wasn't just poopy little cities. Amorphis headlined that one...

They were supporting Nevermore but I don´t know about Amorphis but I guess supporting...

Opeth opened both Nevermore and Amorphis tours, I was lucky enough to witness both.

Opeth needs to do a full US tour. They need to ad more cities to this upcoming tour, cuz they're gonna sell out everywhere they go.

I saw Opeth supporting Amorphis. A local band (Somnus) and Shadows Fall were on the ticket if I recall correctly.
