Welcome To Kanata Eh!
Hey...

Since I sense that their is some hardcore fans out thier of the games and movies! I decided to create a thread to JUST talk about Final Fantasy! Hopefully we will get some awsome discussions in here!

I'm just going to start it off with...

My favorite Final Fantasy game would have to be VII, for obvious reasons. The game play is great, the storyline is incredible, graphics/cinematics where revolutionary at the time! And come on, that game has probably the best musical scores ever put in a video game (at the time) The main hero was not a character with a perfect life but a character with so many freaking problems its unbelievable...the whole story is pretty much about his fucked up life! And to boot, Sephiroth is probably the most bad ass villan in a video game ever, and I think still lives up to that! He is just so maniacle its not even funny, + his connection is with Cloud is just so freaking great!

As far as other classics I would have to Go with Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy Tactics which kick loads of ass as well!

As far as characters go, I always found so many of them wicked!

Tifa Lockheart
Cloud Strife
Vincent Valentine
Ramza Beoulve
Delita
Sephiroth
Barret Wallace
Vivi
Princess Garnet
Tidus
Yuyu

Got some of the greatist created charcters right their in Video Game history!

The best part of FF for me is definitely the music. Nobuo is one of my favorites, and I always enjoy playing FF tunes on my guitar :D

Oh, and I second the Sephiroth thing. He's the freakin best! He even manages to be even MORE badass in Kingdom Hearts!

I've played IV-X. I had the most fun with VII for sure. Mainly because it was one of the first RPGs I played through. Then later, I went back and played some more classic games, but FF7 hooked me on the genre. They were all fun honestly. I never got to finish X because my PS2 broke soon after I got it. Pity. I was thinking about getting another one actually though. VIII didn't get stellar reviews, but I thought it was great. I liked the card game and IX had a ton of style.

Anyone ever beat the Weapons from VII?

I beat a few of them! I'm actually currently on the last disc ready to enter the North Crater... So I;m trying to defeat Ultimate Weapon to get Clouds Ultima Weapon... Basically I am leveling up/getting their best weapons so I can kick Sephiroths ass... Ruby Weapon isn't so difficult!

As far as Final Fantasy VIII goes, It was a good game! But I found it was the weakist of the series... Way to much dialogue, useless dialogue so it bored you so quickly! I also just picked up Final Fantasy IX this week, started playing it! Its a pretty kick ass game as well (thus far) The cinematics are incredible and the story is unfolding/playing nicely! Which I think is the main attribute for all of Sqaure Softs/SqaureEnix's releases.

For those of you who play Final Fantasy Tactics...did you ever notice Aeris from FFVII is in it? Also Cloud Strife is a secret character in the game!

The music continously hooks me on these games! Nobou is a genious for sure, the boss battle music in Final Fantasy VII pwn! Sephiroths music is stellar as well!

Final Fantasy II was my first RPG, and it owned... Than I skipped like every game in the series and played FFVII... It defenetly hooked me on RPG's for along time. The Legend of Dragoon is a great RPG as well... It would fall under my top 3 favorite for sure, however this is a Final Fantasy thread so I shall stick to it lol :D

I just bought FF7, 8, and 9 from a kid at school. Paid 50 bucks for the games and the strategy guides. Probably got ripped off. Don't care, because now I have them forever!

FFIX is by far my favorite. Either 6 or 7 would be in a close second.

Why can't this be multiple choice?

I'd vote 8, 10, and 10-2. Sorry, I know 7 is the 'fan favorite' but it just doesn't hold a candle to these in my opinion. I am quite looking forward to 12.

I'm a total Final Fantasy nut... I really am, owning every part of the series except for part III (which is almost impossible to find anywhere) and parts X-2 and XI. I love FFTactics as well.
Aside from the obvious favourites part VI and part VII (which is pretty much the most perfect game ever devised in my opinion, with well-balanced in-game mechanics, deep characters, an epic plot, fantastic score and one of the most rewarding ending sequences in video game history), my "closet" favourite would be part V, mainly because the job system provided so much flexibility in creating your party and because having only 4 (respectively 5) well-written characters was nice for a change.

While I have beaten every secret boss in FF5 (Shinryu and Omega) and FF6 (Doom Gaze, Mage Master and so forth) quite easily, I still haven't beat Ruby Weapon and Emerald Weapon in FF7. Ruby absolutely butchered me on my last try because I couldn't deal any more than a couple hundred damage to him with a single attack for whatever reason. I was on the way to beating Emerald, though, before I ran into a counter attack and died... :Smug: He'll be done in for sure some day, though.
On a side note, has anyone ever fought Ozma in FF9? THAT guy is tough!!

I'm gonna be oldschool and pick Final Fantasy IV.

2nd fav would be FFVII

And even tho the gameplay sucked, FFVIII had a great story and music.

I agree on all parts. This game is only surpassed in the RPG Food Chain by Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Trigger PWNS the fuck out of any game you'll ever play. :worship:

And I agree about FF8.

My favorite Final Fantasy is *looks at user name*...yea...

I've only played three Final Fantasies (beating two of them): FFIV (not finished), FFVI, and FFVII. FFVI is hands down the best of the three for whatever reason, but I really enjoyed its narrative and characters more than FFVII. FFVII was a good game when there wasn't a place called Midgar you had to run around in. Man, those parts of the game were dull, hence I cannot consider it one of the best RPGs ever made.

Maybe I should post a video of Advent Children to "Sea of Lies" here when I get the chance (at work at the moment).

yeh I pretty much disregarded Final Fantasy IX...but I just picked it up the other day and its as adictive as all the others lol! Final Fantasy X-2 is more of a mockery than a game I find...Its a great spin-off...but really its for us fantasy animated chick lovers!

Final Fantasy Tactics continues to intrigue me, alot of people dislike it or HAVE NEVER played it because it looks/plays nothing like all the other final fantasy's... But I find it to be loads of fun, and requires alot more strategy than the others! I remember the first time I made it to the end of FFT... I was about to go on the quest to get Cloud Strife (secret character) and I saved my game... I went away for the weekend, when I came back I was rewarded with a completed game lol... My f'ing bros played my game and beat the game for me! Which for those of you know, once you beat ti you cannot get Cloud lol :(

Currently in FFIX I just left Lindeblum (or however its spelt) heading towards the grotto! Where you get that rat chick on your team! Fera?

PS: Gamefaqs pwns...thats an awsome site for some reviews/walthroughs at an afordable price ;)

It's Freya... I'm on the very end of disc 3 right now. I've never beaten the game ONLY because I lost my damn copy and had to buy a new one! (This one) I was in Memoria, right before the final wave of bosses, too.

Ps... Ozma isn't that hard if you know the technique!
