OT: Who gets the last word?

It was actually an okay weekend for me. NOTHING bad happened for once. I did have the bejeezus scared out of me last night though. It was thundering and lightning really bad and I decided to go outside on my porch and have a beer and watch a little of the storm. Well, a lightning bolt came down in front of my house about 40 or so feet from me. I could feel it when it struck the electrical wire across the street from my house. It scared the shit out of me and I accidently dropped my beer:waah: I have seen some pretty gnarly lightning but never that close.

Nope.
It was on my front porch and I didn't feel like having glass shards with my beer. Luckily, I still have 7 beers in the fridge.

Is it me or have there been really no good shows coming through? Cali people excluded because they always get kickass concerts. The only shows that I have planned so far is seeing Sweet Cobra(killer Chicago band) on the 21st and Ween on August 3rd.

Yeah, I would have liked to have seen Lamb of God and Mastodon but the venue they chose to play(Cobo) sucks ass. I am not going to drive to downtown Detroit to see a show in the worst sounding venue possible. I have seen Slayer so many times that it wouldn't really bother me if I don't see them again.

My one friend bugs the shit out me to see them anytime they come through. He has never seen Slayer and they are one of his favorite bands. What a half ass metal head he is:lol: . Claim to be metal and have never seen Slayer:rolleyes: I think he secretly likes Taking Back Sunday:lol: . The first two shows that I went to was Pantera(1st) Slayer(2nd). I was only 14. Not a bad way to start your first heavy metal concerts in my opinion. So I am most definitely a Tried & Tr00 metal head:p

Crue isn't that bad. I almost went and saw them with my buddy when they last came through. Granted, he was supposed to be giving me a free ticket but I would have checked out if he came through with the ticket. They had some pretty cool songs back in the day.

I almost got my ass kicked in junior high for wearing a Motley Crue shirt by this giant 8th grader, who went by the name of Nikki (never knew if she was actually a "Nicole" or not), who decided that I wasn't worthy of wearing it. I didn't even buy the thing, it was a b-day gift. I wore it more often just to piss her off. She lived next door to my best friend so I actually saw her a lot more than I wanted to. She kept saying she was going to kick my ass but every time I told her to do it and get it over with, she kept finding some reason not to. She moved away and we always hoped that she killed herself when they kicked Vince out that first time. It probably would have killed her to know that people were giving me high-fives for wearing Megadeth shirts when we got to high school (although I never figured out why...).

I have to admit, they do (or at least used to) put on a pretty entertaining show, and I actually saw them again on their next tour as well (I think it was Girls, Girls, Girsl?)

My husband had Indian in the Cupboard (I think that's the name?) on the other day, and there's one part where the little cowboy and Indian, excuse me, Native American, are watching TV and the Girls, Girls, Girls video was on and the cowboy was getting way too into it. I remember thinking, wasn't that supposed to be a kids movie?

It's amazing how many band t-shirts I have in the closet right now. I think I'm keeping them so my kids can do the vintage thing when they're older. Have you seen that they're selling brand new shirts at Walmart that look like they're 30 years old? They're all faded and peeling and everything, right off the shelf. It took me years to get my shirts to look that way!!!
