OT: Who gets the last word?

The "leader" told me the reason they did that was b/c I fit the EXACT description giving to them just five minutes ago. Then, one by one they went through my book bag in case one of them might have missed...whatever. Then he ask me what I was doing on the computer:" Are You DOWNLOADING SONGS?" I wish I had a snappy comeback like "You library police sure are getting fiesty!" After there was five of them I did feel the pride of The Hanson's from Slapshot.

Today, though, I called Public Records b/c I found it odd that someone with my EXACT description was walking around. Turns out the perp had on: jeans, tan shirt with a black jacket. I had jeans, tan shirt, no jacket, black hat, glasses and a book bag (No, I'm not retarted). Makes for a good conversation piece I guess.
 
Well, looks like I am going to be laid off for a month. Fuck! It's looking like there will be a total state government shutdown because of how screwed up our budget is. I may have to make an extended trip to Wisconsin now:rock: . Oh well, luckily I knew this was inevitible and saved up my cash and made some serious overpayments on all of my bills. Now I just have to sit and do nothing and collect an unemployment check.

*Edit* And when I mean, "Do nothing" I mean drink beer and play my drums. Fuckin A!!

do you get decent unemployment checks in your state. The last time I qualified for unemployment if worked one day for a temp agency it meant no unemployment check for that week.
 
It's about 60-65% of what you take home. Not the greatest, but fuck it. My dad always taught me to be good with my finances growing up, so I managed to save enough cash to handle this...Just a bump in the road for me. I don't have any kids to feed and the house I bought was within my means, so I should be alright.
 
It sucks when your job is dependent on tax money or, in my case, grant money. Thankfully, my husband got tenure after this school year, so unless he sleeps with a student, they have to keep him around. And, hopefully, our grant gets renewed so I can stay working here after next year.

Dude, hold off on sending those DVDs until the crisis passes. Every little bit helps - I know from past experience. I'm not going anywhere... :Saint:

I came to Portland for a concert in 99. Car broke down on way out, got it towed rest of way to my aunt and uncle's house. We got it "fixed" and were driving to the concert when it completely stopped. Blown motor. Fuck missing the concert, called a friend up and he picked us up and we went. Got back to my car to take valuables out, that night/next morning, my aunt's dog died, so no one was in a mood to go down and help me get my car back. Eventually got down there and it had been towed. Called a number and they said I was going to have to go down to the police station. WTF?
"Your car was involved in a drive by shooting."
"What???"
"Your car was involved in a drive by shooting. It was driven by somewhere and shots were fired out of it and police recovered your car later."
"What!!!!!!!!!!"
"Your car was..."
"I got that, but, was it recovered because someone pushed it down a hill and the cops found it at the bottom of the hill?"
"What do you mean?"
"The engine was blown, it wouldn't start."
"one sec." She comes back later, "uh, is this your car, the one towed from this gas station on Sandy Blvd?"
"Yes, where's it at?"

So, my car was "involved" in a drive by shooting.
