OT: Who gets the last word?

Well, it was a sad weekend for me. I came home on sunday after hanging out with my buddies on saturday. I checked my voicemails and got one of the most horrifying messages I have ever heard. My ex's grandma has been sick for quite awhile. Long story short, she had a massive heart attack and one of the family members amidst the chaos had knocked her phone over and it somehow hit my number and I caught her death on my voicemail. People were screaming, I could hear her gurgling and spitting up blood, her uncle calling 911 on his cell.....Sad, sad, sad

Wow. Just wow. That had to be really disturbing to hear.

Yeah, I couldn't sleep at all last night. I had to spend the rest of the night consoling her(my ex) and just being there. She was in no shape to drive home and doesn't have a lot people to turn to. So I had to step in and be there for her. I can't put into words how fucked up it was. I didn't say anything to her about the message and deleted it. She was super close to her grandma so it is really taking a toll on her. Her grandpa is pretty bad shape now too. They were together for 56 years, so I reckon he won't be alive much longer either That is how it usually goes with old folks who have been together for that long. This weekend started out great but ended being one of the worst ones that I can remember. I just can't get that voice mail out of my head.

Ya know what f'n sucks? I have all these cDNA samples I need to run, and the PC that controls the machine I need to use crashed! I guess IT tried to load some anit-virus program and the program used to run the machine didn't like it. So, I have to wait until they wipe the PC clean and reload everything on it. Stupid IT, and stupid computer!
