OT: Who gets the last word?

I got my taxes done today and although we thought for sure we were paying in this year, we got a fairly decent return back. So of course I went shopping, and then splurged on a very good dinner.

Then I got home tonight and shopped some more online for a few CDs that need replacing, plus my husband wants all the Sopranos DVDs. He already bought Seasons 1 and 2, so I had to track the rest down. Season 3 is hard to find for some reason (had to order on two different websites).

NFF, is Season 6 only availabe in Part 1 right now? It's all I can find, and I'd rather spend the $$$ and have it all in one place than have to keep up with volumes. I already did that with The Green Mile and don't wish to try it again.
 
Oh, and since I'm busy rambling, I found out my sister is the only dink in America, and perhaps Canada, who hasn't seen Eddie and the Cruisers 2. So I'm trying to find it for her birthday (which is in June but I am thoughtful) and all I'm coming up with is the first one, which she also needs because she was also the last holdout in America to come to the reality that VHS is indeed going away.

Yeah, Season 6 "part 2" doesn't start airing until April. It's all a ploy by the cheap bastards to get more money, so I'm not buying.

A 24-episode season of "24" costs $60 on DVD, while the 12-episode 1st part of the Sopranos season costs $90, and I wouldn't be surprised if they charge the same amount for "part 2", meaning 3 times the total cost for a shorter season. Fuck them, I'll download it instead, and use the money I saved to buy 3 seasons of 24.

Oh yeah, I forgot they were being cheesey and counting this year as last year. I'll wait, then. But I was wondering why "Part 1" was the same amount of $$$ as the other full seasons.

Arrgh!

Saw both 300 and The Departed this weekend. Lots of violence. Made me happy. Though, I didn't see what the big deal with The Departed was. I mean, it was a good cop/mob movie, but I didn't think that it was the best thing since sliced bread.
 
Boy, nothing like spending your morning screaming at your mortgage company. I notified them we were changing banks back in February and wanted to make a manual payment this month, so that we could assure direct deposit would be all set from my job in April.

So what do they do? Not only do they cash the check we sent them, but they helped themselves to the monthly debit from my bank account! Bastards. (Fortunately, I had my tax refund in there, otherwise I'd have overdraft fees... that I'd charge back to the mortgage company!)

They're supposedly overnighting me a check to refund the "double-dip," but until I have it in my hands, I don't believe 'em.

PHH Mortgage Services sucks. There, I've said it... sue me. It ain't libel if it's true.

I agree about the Departed too. It was a good movie, but it wasn't Scorsese's best movie by a long shot. I guess, I just don't like Matt Damon a whole lot and I had a hard time believing Nicholson as a mob boss.

I just hope 300 is as good as everyone is saying because that movie has definitely been hyped like The Departed was when it first came out. I'm probably going to check out 300 this weekend.
 
Yeah, nothing special about the Departed. The ONLY reason it got nominated (and the ONLY reason it won) is to make up for past snubs. The Academy should wait 10 years to give out best picture awards, so that the true impact of the film can be more fairly assessed.

So who do you think should win best picture of 1997? :lol:
 
Oh yeah, I checked out that Anthrax dvd this weekend, NFF. It is pretty good quality. Did you still want me to send it out to you along with a Down and Clutch one? I would be able to send them out not this week but next week if ya like(got too much shit going on this week). I don't have any upcoming trades that I need to take care of, so it wouldn't be a big deal.

Yeah, DD, you might want to have divided that into "cart girls" and "snack shack girls", unless there's something you're doing with the golf carts that I just don't want to know about :lol:

Speaking of golfing DD, I see that's what your Fantasy Hockey team is doing right now :lol:
