I'll have to work sometime this weekend probably. Won't know for sure when until tomorrow, but it'll probably just be a drive up to the Tacoma area and then back, about 6 hours of work.
Well, we got a rude awakening to the higher soccer division tonight. It didn't help that our ringer was missing tonight, and that the only physical activity I've had since injuring my ankle halfway through last summer's season has been climbing flights of stairs at work.
Finally Friday! Party time. Wait...I still have to do some work today.
Just found out that tickets for an August Dream Theater show go on sale tomorrow. They're touring with Into Eternity and Redemption. I've heard Into Eternity, but haven't heard Redemption. But, my money is that they're a prog band.
I wish I could be like the grad student in the lab. He gets his happy ass here at 10:30 and wants to leave at 4. Granted, at that rate, he'll get his PhD in 7 or more years, but still.
Spent over three hours in the kitchen last night whipping up a triple-batch of chocolate chip cookies for a baby shower in the office today. (Two batches of semi-sweet, one batch of white chocolate.) They were all gone before lunch - and I went off my diet and helped consume them. (Burp.)
The secret is to use egg substitute - not 'cause it's healthier, but because it's then safer to eat raw cookie dough.
I haven't made any in a while, but I make a pretty good chocolate chip cookie, and chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips. But my real specialty is homemade fudge, either chocolate or maple. When it's still warm, it's more addictive than heroin.
I haven't made cookies since christmas. Maybe I'll whip some up for my brother-in-law's wedding shower in 2 weeks.
One thing I want to try and make one day is chocolate truffles. Alton Brown had an episode on them, and they don't look too hard to make. And you know us women are with chocolate.
