I love my Wacom tablet. I finally got the powers that be to buy me one for work, so that I wouldn't have to keep bringing mine from home.

The IRS is pretty bitchy about stuff like this. My friend got audited and they said that his PDA didn't count as a business expense because it was not required to do his job and he used it for personal stuff too.

friend's dad told me about starting a business, that buys and sells over the net and never having to pay taxes because you have more spending than actual earning.

nope, it doesn't. but...
business expenses include if you go on a vacation to say, Seattle, you're actually on a business trip, so gas out to Seattle is a write-off. you go to dinner, everyone chips in say $20, but you somehow don't have a $20, so everyone pays you and you put it on your card, business dinner. can you see where things add up? there's more, but can't remember it all.
