Other Recording Forums

I agree with Oz, gearslutz is not as good as here - especially for heavy musicians using the DAW.

gearslutz is also hard to read and siff through for decent information.

this a great forum, without the ego and agro of most the "keyboard commandoes" on the internet

And of course anybody looking to record heavy guitars needs to go no further than a little Slipperman action.

I disagree. No offense to Slippy, I have great respect for him. However, his ramblings can make things hard to decipher. That & he records to analog... meaning sometimes his methods don't translate as well into the DAW realm.

Honestly, I've found this forum to be infinitley more valuable for the subject of recording heavy guitars to a DAW than anything I've found in Slippy's threads. You might have had a different experience: I can only speak for myself.

Does anyone know who Slipperman really is?

Yeah, I totally agree about this being the place for guitar recording.

I tried to read the slipperman thread and its to much rambling for me and i just get lost. I have had way better luck here with my guitar tone and learning stuff. People here get to the point:rock: Plus Andy is da MAN!!!:kickass:

He looks scary....I dont know who anybody is :( Is metalkingdom quite renowned for his mixes or somrthing I think I heard :| I apologise if hes famous, I really dont have a clue whos who yet! :P :p

Yeah, I'll second that Slippy is T. G.... He admitted as much on George Massenburg's forum, as Mr. Massenburg didn't want any psuedonyms on his board.

I'll say again: I have great respect for Slip. I think he's a great dude & certainly isn't snobbish in any sense. Just kinda has a hard time making a point.
