Outstanding albums of this decade?

Opeth - Blackwater Park (2001)
Opeth - Deliverance (2002)
Opeth - Damnation (2003)
The least three good Opeth albums in order , well done

I can't fucking stand Porcupine Tree (no offense to the fans of them on this board)

Opeth's masterpiece is Still Life...I find that album to be bloody amazing friends.

Albums I'll find relevant in 5 yrs.

Agalloch- The Mantle
Woy- Pursuit of the Sun...........
Virgin Black- Elegant and Dying
Void of Silence- Human Antithesis

(There would be more, but I only have my portable cd folder with me, so my memory fails me.)

I'm not sure if this was mentioned in this thread yet and I'm too lazy to check back:

Today Is The Day - Sadness Will Prevail (2002)

This has got to be one of the masterworks for the ages.

On the Opeth Topic... all of Opeth's stuff is "Okay" or "pretty good" except for Orchid, which I would put in the "masterpiece" catagory...

I love Still Life, the rest is just bleh. I agree with NAD Blackwater park's first two songs are quite excelllent.

yeah I noticed... and most of those guys will go absolutely apeshit if you criticize Opeth in any way.

Opeth fanboi #1: "Mikael should shave his pornstache"
Opeth fanboi #2: "NO YUO!!!!!!!"

I don't think they're ALL that bad :)
So many fucking new members on that board every day, it's fucking scary.. and they're mostly idiots too.

I think Opeth's masterpiece is Morningrise. Least favorite is Blackwater Park, which as some have stated, gets stale at times. Good, but their worst album overall. The first two and Morningrise in particular are just epic, emotion-filled glory though.

So what? One Inch isn't entitled to his own opinion? I don't quite see the objective of this thread. Are you trying to stir up something on another forum by having the opeth fanboys hop on over there and praise the band? Opeth is my one of my fav bands if not "the". But realizing that they're not the end all be all of music, isn't such a far fetched concept to grasp Mr. Beals.
I was always on the fence with whether AWMM was cool or not, now I know he is. :Spin:

EDIT: Oh man I just picked a huge booger from my nose, I wish I had my digital camera on me.

Opeth - Probably all records but the last three is the best ones.

Katatonia - They are all very good but Viva emptiness and Brave murder day is my favorites.

Converge - Jane doe and You fail me.

Porcupine tree - In absentia.

Ephel Duath - The painter's pallete.

Farmakon - A warm glimpse.

Änglagård - Epilog and Hybris.

There are many good bands and records but this is the best ones if you ask me.

Tool - Lateralus (10/10)
Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye (10/10)
Jerry Cantrell - Degradation Trip volumes 1 & 2 (10/10)
King Crimson - The Power to Believe (9/10)
Hammers of Misfortune - The August Engine (9/10)
I want to revise this list by saying Cantrell's album is more of a 9/10 and The August Engine is definitely 10/10. Also I don't do ratings anymore, so that doesn't matter anyhow.

Albums to add to my list:

Agalloch - The Mantle
Ulver - Perdition City
Mammatus - The Coast Explodes
Drudkh - Autumn Aurora
Rwake - Voices of Omens

I'd say that makes a nice Top 10 of the Aughts. And me not including any ISIS, Neurosis, Enslaved, Sunn O))), Summoning, Colour Haze, Unida, Negura Bunget, Deathspell Omega, Katatonia, et alii means that music is pretty awesome.

Good call, that is a worthy inclusion indeed. I can't believe I sold that album back in 2004(?). Picked it up again last year and it blew my butthole right out.
