Palin is kaput -

There's a difference between a gaffe and just not being very smart.

you're missing the entire point.

Sarah Palin never made the comment about seeing Russia from her house. a completely unrelated, different person said it, while pretending to be her.

on what planet does that equate to her having said it? she didnt say it... bottom line. if you want to use that remark to say somebody is not very smart, then you have to say it about Tina Fey, not Sarah Palin.

however, Obama DID say there were 57 states, so why does he get a pass? why is it casually tossed off as 'just a gaffe'?

it seems like a blatant double standard, to me. :err:

You're so right..She never said she could see it from her house...She said "You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska" when asked about her foreign policy experience....She hasn't even been to the island where you can actually see Russia.

Obama did say he'd visited 57 states with one to go, yet named two states he hadn't visited.

did she say she'd been to the island? no?
then that's not an issue.

what about Odumbo's foreign policy experience? the man doesnt even know how many states are in the nation he looks to lead. maybe if he'd have been born here...
oh, wait. :Smug:

Did she say she'd been to island?...No...But she did use the statement and "They're our neighbors" and "We have trade routes set up" and "Canada shares a border with us" as her examples of experience...Honestly, if she would have compared her lack of experience with that of Reagan or Clinton, she would have probably fared a little better.

She couldn't even give one specific example of a book, newspaper, or magazine, when asked what she read to keep up with the happenings in the rest of the country.

But let's face it, any off the wall things said by a politician during a campaign is going to be shredded or clung to like you want to do with Obama's 57 states....I'll tell ya what...Deprive yourself of sleep for 3 straight months and see how coherent your statements become.

I made my initial post in jest but leave it to someone like you to fly off on a tangent that doesn't do much except satisfy your own personal need to feel confident in your existence....Keep on e-thugging...I'm sure it'll score you lots of dates in the future.

He obviously meant to say 47 states because what he said was: he had been to 57 states and he has one more to go to and that he was not going to Hawaii or Alaska.

47 + 1 = 48 states
50-2(Alaska and Hawaii)= 48 states.

Now lets all get high. :Smokin:

All this back and forth is pointless. No opinions are going to change, and too be honest, a internet flame war about what was said while on the campaign trail is stupid. So what if Palin said she had more foreign policy experience because she could potentially see a Russian island, and vice versa so what if Obama had a slip of the tongue and said 57 instead of 47--nobody could really think he's that dumb.

Is Obama a good president?? Hard to say, he has not been truly in power long enough to truly have accomplished anything. Would Mccain or Palin have done a better job?? Can't say because it would be a subjective hypothesis

Everyone, on left and right sides need to lighten up

Sue,

Since you seem to really be hung up on the whole Tina Fey bit... I am not even referring to that when discussing her lack of intelligence. There are plenty of other interviews to point to without relying on the satirical skit, which was pretty accurate as well... lol.

At any rate, he won, you lost.

Case closed. :kickass:

first of all, i know you're not talking about Tina Fey, because your mind is so scattered and rational thought is such a chore for you that you completely drifted off topic and cant remember what we were discussing.

somebody brought up that Palin could see Russia from her house. i reminded them that Palin never said that. Tina Fey did. you came back with,' she may as well have,' crediting her with a gaffe that wasnt hers to claim.

i pointed out that that wasnt fair, especially when nobody is pointing out the NUMEROUS, ACTUAL gaffes of our current POTUS and VPOTUS.

it's a double standard.

as for my losing... i wasnt running.

I like this gaffe: "How is it in Austrian?" he asked an Austrian journalist.

For those who might not know, there's no such thing as "Austrian" language. German is spoken in Austria.
This is very close to "Bushisms", but of course, no one is gonna point that out.

in less than a year this current Retard-in-Chief has outgaffed 8 years of Bush, but dont expect any of the Obama zombies to admit to it.

why, just for bringing it up... you're obviously a RACIST! :Smug:

even by neocon standards that is pushing it Sue.

only because liberals are the masters of double standards.
in other words, when a Conservative has a slip of the tongue or misspeaks, they're stupid and gaffe-prone.

when a Liberal commie does the exact same thing, it's an adorable little personality quirk. :loco:

I AM a racist! I think that Afro-Americans (is it a politically correct word or it is not) have bigger cocks than Caucasians!
Even though I haven't actually seen one. Still, this is racism, isn't it.

ask Jerry J. he's seen quite a few, i'm sure.

Um no.. that is not racist, that is simply perpetuating stereotypes.

Might as well be. But "racism" is not what most of the people might think - that a racist is simply the one who "hates black people". Racism states that there are differences among the races and that some are superior/inferior (in some areas) to others.

In other words, you might as well state that the people who voted for Obama only because of color of his skin are racist.
