Parkway Drive Studio Vid

If this turns out as good as it's sounding on the video, I think Baressi is going to have a line of metalcore bands waiting to work with him.

They seem like good guys, and that looks like an awesome place to work (strange monitor array though, V8's and then both models of M-Audio DSM's for a guy at his level? :zombie: )

But my good god the music :lol:

EDIT: And lol @ "The Black Record" :D

"They've decided not to make the same exact record that every band in this type of music make"

A rather bold claim if you ask me since what I heard from the small snippets sounds like exactly the same shit NEARLY EVERY metalcore band does these days.
And yeah I agree with Marcus, wtf is with having monitors around that belong in cheap home studios?

I think his point is that not every metal band has to sound like it was recorded by Adam D and I agree completely. It gets kinda old when Unearth, Killswitch and PWD all sound like the same damn band right down to their spoken breakdowns, reverse tom reverb, and of course the obligatory slow metal "ballad".

I mean, these bands already sound so much alike already, what sense does it make to have the same damn guy record their albums too? Don't get me wrong, the guy is skilled-- I think I'm just bored of his sound.

Well admittedly, I remember Jens Bogren really praising the V8's, and I see now that both of those M-Audios manage to break the $1k mark for a pair; whatever works for him of course, but I guess he really must love 'em to have both models! :loco:

Once again, douchebags shitting on a band who's name is obviously in the title - don't like it, don't click it.

Stoked for this and stoked to see them on Warped.

Yeah because not being fan of the band means we can't be interested in watching the video:rolleyes:
It's always interesting to hear the perspective of producers and/or engineers talking about their stuff in videos even if it's to do with a band I don't care for.
I think that's fair and reasonable

I do like the band. I'm happy things are going good with Joe!:kickass:

You can buy a 5150 for $1000.00 new. In my opinion, it sounds better than a $5000.00 Diezel VH4.

It's not about price point, but about translation and honestly, if Barresi thinks those monitors are flat enough for him to monitor his mixes and make worthwhile adjustments, so be it.

On that note, where do you guys listen to music the most when you're not at your monitors? For me, it's in my car. I would say NINETY percent of music that is listened to is either on earbuds/headphones while traveling from place to place, or in someone's car CD player. If anything, I would want a pair of monitors that sound like the awesome full range system in my car. If they did, my mixes would translate to a worthwhile medium all of the time.

Just my two cents.

i saw this yesterday and im looking forward to it!

As far as gregs post, NS10s are sub 1k and they are an industry standard reference monitor, my monitors are below £200 but ive had em for 6 years, and know them inside out, so i'd take these over anything (apart from NS10s which i can jump too off these very well)

Sounds good so far...but not that innovative to me, musicwise....but I guess they are supposed to say such things

Super excited about the new record!!!!
I love this band (one of the only metalcore bands I like)
Amazing tunes in the snippets.

Dont expect PWD to do something totaly different. come on guys they are successfull with what they do so, why should they change the main-thing about their music.
I do hear some differences in the snippets to the other albums....like the clean passages.

I'm hoping they will make a record that I can listen to, cause I saw them live last week and they were very very good. I just can't bear the music on CD for longer than 2 minutes ... it's a really weird disparity between live and CD here. And the total opposite of most bands who suck live.
