Parkway Drive Studio Vid

Just listened to the album via Myspace stream. Well I guess I'm fucking crazy, but I love it. I see what raisedfist means about it having the vibe of a Deftones album. It's very raw kinda like that Terry Date Unearth album. The lack of drum quantizing draws your attention in a few parts. Bummer, but at least we know it's the real deal.

I think some of the guys here are blowing it a bit out of proportion with the mix. It's not like you're going to listen to this and say "HEY THAT'S NOT PARKWAY DRIVE!" It doesn't sound like every other metal album out there-- to me that's a plus. Haters, maybe remove your engineering hat and give it another listen.

BTW, Deadweight might be my favorite, lots of good ones though...

I gotta agree on the guitars and the kick... I personally think it ruins the entire record, nevertheless I love the songs

So maybe I'm the last person to hear this album since I waited till the CD was released. but I think it sounds good. Not perfect but it's a cool unique mix. The guitars don't seem as soft as they did through myspace. I'll definitely enjoy it.

Digging the mix now, to be honest. It's a bit of a shock at first, but then I get into it. Really powerful, and when layers start building, it feels very organic.

Regardless, though - they threw the fuck down 2 days ago. Saw them at Warped, they drew a HUGE crowd that went totally apeshit for them, and they were really tight as a band and put on a solid show.
