I had one many years ago but I'm about to pick up another in a trade. Anyone use one? I'd like to give it a go direct with some impulses.
I dont know anything on this amp but i know All shall perish used one on their last record with a marshall poweramp so i am curious if any one has any experience with this amp i liked the tone on the priece of existence.
I just did this a couple days ago...
It's a Peavey Rockmaster through an impulse...Direct recorded...

Was a discussion in another forum about this particular tune that provoked it...I left out a few parts...got lazy...heh

nope...no secrets...just an OD808 in front of it...then straight into the DAW...
no shenanigans at all...
It's a great sounding pre...
It was set like this...
Ultra Gain Channel...
pre - 5 knob in
post - 10
bottom - 6
body - 1 knob in
edge - 6
That's it...You're gonna have fun with it...I use it as my main practice rig too...I've had it for a couple years now...All I 've had to do is clean the jacks in the back once and it works like a champ...
Just woundering is it the same pre amp section as in the 5150?

Its part of the Ultra family isn't it?
I believe it's similar in tone to the Peavey Ultra Plus 120 Head, that many people said was the predecessor of the TripleXXX. I think it could cop a great tone with a TS-9 and a good 6L6 tube poweramp.
I dunno if the 60/60 is 6L6's, I've got the 50/50 and it's EL34's.
I got a second hand Peavey Rockmaster last month, it sounds amazing connected to a Peavey Classic 50/50 Poweramp, but...
...when I turn volume up, very loud, it appears a feedback noise - I'm not sure if it is called 'feedback', is like when you put a mic close to a speaker. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Even using a PodXT Pro as a gate it keeps on sounding that annoying noise.
Any idea of how to avoid it?
