Same here. I need to go join/start a band but I don't have the motivation to go out but I really should. I have musician friends already but they wouldn't be able to play the stuff I write.

i have a similar situation as well. Unfortunately, I can't jam well, since I basically haven't learned any theory except some of the blues scales, which I am working on currently. But, we are sort of making it work, we just bring riffs in, tweak 'em some, throw in some ideas and start putting them together. Probably the main complication is communicating to them my riff ideas and it's hard to find the people who have the patience, for that.

This one band my friends are in can't read music at all and have no idea what music theory is, but yet they still continue to make their music. It's all really predictable, too. I can pretty much sing along once I figure out the tune.

I wanted to get a power metal band together, but I want to improve my vocals and get a little better on the bass (though bass isn't all that important in most power metal) and take some time to recruit genuinely good instrumentalists. Though, in a school of about 450 and full of ditzy conservative Christian posers, pickings are slim. There's about two people besides myself who are even vaguely interested in playing in a metal band.

Where do you live? I'm learning guitar and my goal is to make a melodic death metal/power metal band also. i can play some of alexi's stuff...although it needs a little speeding up...but i'll get there. i'm so dedicated to making a good metal band right now. I'm in southern california by the way.
