Hey astarte ... great pictures !
Here in Brazil we don't have these kind of landscapes (with snow, like in your country and in our message board friends' countries from the north), but we have very beautiful beaches, forests, fauna, flora and nature. :)
Comparing to the people on this forum, we live very near (I live in a town near to Sao Paulo). Do you know if there is more people from South America on this forum ?

It's not that big but there's room for everybody ;)

I'm not sure if there's more active people from South America, I really don't remember right now.

I had posted some really beautiful pictures in the past but I don't know if they're still there. *goes hunting*

I'm too lazy to search for new pics, but i won't make you go through all the +40 pages of this thread, so you can see them here
The pics I've taken don't look that good anyway...

I've seen more chileans around here, lots of brazilians and a few argentinians ;)

How we celebrate winter-solstice (lots o snow, lots o mead!), some ancient place (tho you don't see so much ancient place on it, and thus doesn't qualify for the Ancient places thread :) it's from the Steinsburg in Thuringia :) )

 everybody has friends in Chile but nobody know where the hell this is

What???? I've known as far as I can remember, I think! We were
forced to learn this very early in school... I am so disappointed
about your lack of faith in me *sniff* (Besides, I've travelled far
in my viking boat! I've seen the shores of continents 5! :D ;) )

Another one, across the fjord from my home in the north,
there was Saltstraumen! The strongest maelstrom in the world!
I will post more of the powers of the streams if u wanna....

You are welcome here! Just come on up! That place is a good
fishing place, as u can see. Really great.. :)
I can feel the nature calling... I miss my home in the north
Summers are great, and the sun never sets. Always light...
*longing for home*

@Ziuwarian: Those pictures are great! Especially the second and the last ;)

This pic is taken from the bridge of the last pic..

There are powers in those waters one shouldn't mess with.
They are so strong that if you are standing on the other side
of the fiord, you see the streams clearly in the waters along the
shore on the other side! As you can see it's not that small a
fiord.. (bridge down to the left)

(Stupid) Divers caught in the wild waters have found themselves
in the middle of the fiord in no time. Or suddenly forced down
turned up-side down etc. Not waters to play in, really. But when
it's quiet it's no problem..

I'm just so fascinated by those forces of nature, IMMENSE POWERS!

That seemed very cozy :) Nice way to celebrate winter-solstice.

That reminds me about how I'm going to celebrate summer-solstice. A (norse) blót, of course, _BUT_, what is not so of course is that it's going to be a wedding there!!!! IIiihhh!!! A norse wedding, done in the way they did back thousand years ago and before.... I don't know the bride and the groom, just met the groom once, but everyone who are coming to the blót are invited to the wedding as well!! That'll be fun!! (And I'm probably going to want to marry myself as well, hehe... weddings- how romantic!!!) :D
