First and foremost, welcome to all, as it is my first post on this forum.
At the moment, I'm finishing my studies in France, and I've been working for about a year on a progressive / polymetric / ambiant & melodic project
My plan is to move to the USA (a country I fell in love with when I lived there for two years, a while back) in order to set up a band for this project.
On top of that I may also set up a recording / mixing / mastering studio, in order to get some money and to help some local bands.
On paper it is a great project, but it's also very complicated
What can you tell me about the main types of metal that are popular in CA ? Is there a specific place for my kind of music ? I'm also looking for a drummer, which will be able to play complex polymetric rythms ... Any meshuggah dumb fanboys like me living in CA ?
What general advices would you give me ? I'm all ears really... I want this to work, as otherwise I'll die and turn gay if I stay in France (and yeah I'm french)
I'm going to LA this summer in order to see the californian sun a bit
