Plug - THE Deadthings show to see this year...

I believe The Five Venoms come on at about 10:20 until 11pm, then an hour of metal videos and pole dancers and giveaways, then we hit the stage at midnight. 
Last nite's show ROCKED!!! My fave gig I've played by far!! Big crowd who got right into it (noisy before we even came out, waiting eagerly up the front and roaring if they heard someone do a line check or plug in a lead!), great pyro effects, strippers with 2 poles on stage, great sound mix, Dave & Leigh had wirelesses so there was heaps of movement on stage... rockin show!! Felt like an arena show!! We were told by TONS of people afterwards that it was the best & biggest gig they have ever seen a local band do! The flashpot bombs were deafening though, especially the last one!!! And I was scared of the flame machines!! (Shame there are no photos of them, they looked dynamite!)

Haha well... there will be more of them to come, getting better and better too!! But gotta keep slugging out the small shows in between of course as well. The whole vibe was just rockin too, the crowd was really gettin into it!

I happened to be down in Melbourne last night, so I made a point of finding where the hell the hi-fi bar was and managed to make it to the show.
I thought that both the Deadthings and the Five Venoms were awesome! Great stage show also guys, although I think the venue had some issues dealing with all the smoke and fumes from the pyro.. haha, and yes that last bang almost did my heart in.

The venue was quite uncooperative about alot of things, and yeah I don't think they liked having pyro there very much haha. One particular bouncer (the one who banned me 2 years ago) turned HEAPS of people away for no reason. For things as small as for example, he grabbed one girl's bag to check coz they were checking all bags and was really rough with her stuff and she grabbed it back off him and said "Excuse me!" and he goes "Thats it you're banned" and didnt let her in. Apparently there was a whole bunch of people at Cherry Bar who had been turned away from The Deadthings gig by this twit on the door!
I think he hates metal and whenever metal shows are on he goes out of his way to look for any reason to not let people in. When Marisa rocked up with a bunch of friends, all glammed out in makeup & big hair etc, she even heard him say something like "Oh here we go..." and shake his head when they walked up, and though there was nobody in front of them queuing to go in, he kept them waiting at the door for a couple of minutes for no reason, checked Marisa's ID which was a driver's license and goes "Is that all you have? Stand over there." and made her wait before he let her in, for some weird reason!

I'm spewing I missed the show.....I was just fucked on Friday night. I've been doing some long hours at work of late... Any chance of another gig with pyros and strippers?!
The bouncer could be the same one who was a smart arsed cunt to me after Machine Head a while back. I gave a bit back, so another bouncer chased me up the stairs.

Probably is the same guy, he has had complaints from a few bands & organisers there that I know of. Dunno how he still has his job.
Yup we're gonna be doing pyro & strippers as much as we can now, obviously its always gonna depend on the venue and we still gotta keep doin the small Green Room style shows too in between but its hard to scale back after shows like this now, we've kinda set the precedent now we have to match (and that other bands will have to try to match too!).
