I keep running into something that bothers me till no end..
Basically i have a great sounding drum track through EZ drummer or superior 2, and in that plugin i need to turn down the volume of the masterknob to - 6.0 to stay in the same volume level as my guitars are recorded in.. it kills the dynamics of the drumtrack (having to reset all the compression settings and drum replacement plugins.. sucks!).
So basically my guitars can only be recorded at a very mediocre volume level compared to the plugins like drums and synths.. seems abnormally low to me, and i always have crack them up till they start to crackle and pop.
I have tried jacks, XLR and SPDIF.. but it really does not make much difference.. might i be missing something?
