I actually figured out a lot just watching your stuff before you started coming to this forum much. You should do some easy songs in between these long covers; someone like you could have Still Day Beneath the Sun or something mastered in a couple of hours. I know you covered most of Still Life too; Face of Melinda is pretty easy.

I'm goddamn jealous of your skill man. Wish I could play the guitar like that...

How often do you practice? How long have you played?

Probably been playing about 4-5 years, concentrating on Opeth-style material for a year or so now. I played violin for much longer which helps...

Probably practise at least an hour a day- not that long because I'm nearing the end of my degree and that takes up most of my time at the moment.

13,5 dunno about the genre, somekind of metal stuff (there's softer songs to come, one actually on the works right now, and a woman singer who's not yet made appearance on that site atleast).

And I'd like to mention that though that I'm in the band, I have not yet played anything for them, the drums and bass are computer programmed at this point.

did you play that with tabs? if yes, which ones?

edit: since the threads have been merged:
i'm talking to 99tollap

Annoucing "Ocean Dreams" my new album

It's almost done, my 5th Studio Album. It will be titled "Ocean Dreams", and with 18 tracks, it runs over 1 hour in length. This is the album where it really all comes together. I think many people will be pleasently supprised when they finally get to hear Ocean Dreams, because it represents 2 1/2 years of my life and over 3000 hours of work. It is most definately my best work to date.

I'm currently in process of giving the songs one final polishing, then they will sent away for mixing and mastering at the acclaimed Abbey Road Studios in London.

I have uploaded a few short samples of raw unmixed soundbytes at my website. Feel free to check them out.

lol I've spent the last two and a half years on a single song...
I will post that here soon and it will turn all your brains to shit.

That's one of lifes' mysterious questions. When is a song actually done? Because it can always be improved in some way. At some point you just have to say, enough is enough, you can then apply what you've learned to your next song.
