Is this available on disc? I've got it on vinyl and haven't heard it for a really long time. And just the mention of it has me jonesing to hear it again.

Help me out here a little, darlin'. They're a Bay Area band aren't they? I think I saw them in a club way back in the late 80's or early 90's. I'm pretty sure it was before they were signed. I'm just trying to recreate some of my misspent youth and regain some info that must have been contained in some brain cells that I killed off.

been around since the early 80's....several band members have come and gone since then.. first release 1986 "Soldiers of the night". The complete line up was: Geoff Thorpe - Guitar, Vinnie Moore - Guitar, Gary St. Pierre - Vocals, Dave Starr - Bass, and Larry Howe - Drums. Then the line up changes once Vinne leaves and Mark McGee steps in for guitars and Carl Albert takes over for vox. They stay this way for 9 yrs.

Soldiers of the Night - 1986 Digital Dictator - 1988 Vicious Rumors - 1990
Welcome to the Ball - 1992 Plug In and Hang On - 1992 Word of Mouth - 1994
The Voice (EP) - 1994 A tribute to Carl Albert - 1995
Something Burning - 1996 Cyberchrist - 1998 Sadistic Symphony - 2001
VR - Crushing the World - 2005
DVD
Carl Albert passed away in 1995 and put VR into a "holding" pattern. The lineup changed again and I don't think they ever really recovered from it.

One guy is trying to get them for ProgPower and I think they'd be fantastic for it!

Currently rotating:

* Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor

* Pagan's Mind - Enigmatic: Calling

Every time I play this album I like it more. The vocal melodies are simply amazing!

* Sieges Even - The Art Of Navigating By The Stars

Not a metal album but with a sound that alternates between symphonic rock and hard rock. At the moment this album tops my 2005 list. Its amazing! Imho this is a perfect mix between technical en emotional music!

* Zero Hour - A Fragile Mind

I only heard this one a few times. Troy, Mike and Jasun never fail to amaze me. The new singer is great.

2005 has turned out to be an amazing year as far as releases go. Both the Nevermore and Sieges Even albums are the best albums I ever heard of them.

Wow! Thanks bunches Kitty and Hawk. :worship: :headbang: After looking at Kitty's post and then checking out their forum it looks like they are indeed a Bay Area band. It's doubtful that I saw them before they were signed. I wasn't in the Bay Area until late '88. I know I saw them at least once in a bar though. Thanks again!

Mams´s Boys - Plug it in
Stormwitch - Tales of Terror
Defending the Faith - Radical Change
Mötley Crue - Shout at the Devil
Siren - No Place like home
Silbermond - Verschwende deine Zeit

I can't play the Nevermore at work anymore. I don't get any work done while it's on. :D That's just a great freakin' album.

The PM hasn't caught on with me yet. Although I haven't played it for quite a while. I suppose I ought to give it another shot.

I just picked up the Sieges Even along with the Axe that Wyvern pointed me to. Do they really sound like Rush all that much?

The Zero Hour has gotten a lot of talk on other boards and among some people I know. I haven't had the opportunity to hear it yet. I just listened to a track on the PP VI sampler and added it to my order. :D

One that's been getting a ton of play from me is Scar Symmetry, Symmetric in Design. Good, melodic death metal, IMO.
