I have an Randall RM4 (1086, Tweed, Modern) and Randall MTS R212CP (Vintage 30)
And going to buy a power amp...
What would be wiser to buy:
Mesa 50/50
Mesa 20/20
Randall RT2/50
ENGL 920
ENGL 820 2x35
Peavey 50/50

What can U say about each of them...
I need it for recording ( using mics: SM57. Audix CX112. Oktava MK012)

Thanks

I have a Randall RT2/50, that I use to capture the impulse responses for Recabinet. I think it's a fairly sterile sounding tube power amp, very consistent and good for making IRs as a result (very clean sound.)

Tone-wise, the Mesa stuff absolutely KILLS it. If I were going to use a power amp for recording and live shows, it would be a Mesa or ENGL power amp, hands down. However, the RT2/50 offers seamless integration with the RM4 switching, so it's probably best to go with that for maximum versatility and compatibility.

I´ve had the Mesa 20/20. It is a great amp for recording but too soft for a band situation.
I nearly regret having sold it.
Never played the other amps but recorded a 50/50 with a sans amp and got great results.

Problem #2
The price for RT2/50 equal price for Peavey 5150-II...
Can anybody say about power amp in peavey 5150|6505?
May be Peavey will bettest choise?
