Powertab question

I don't know if this is a stupid question but I'm really starting to get annoyed. Every time I download a powetab from any site anwyhere it always tries to open it using Adobe Reader, but I always get an error message saying the file is unsupported. I have powertab editor 1.7, I just can't figure out how to read these damn powertabs. Help is appreciated

cant you just set the file to open in Powertab? i.e. right click the file, and choose Open With and Powertab should be on that list. make sure you're trying to open the .ptb files in Powertab, and not the .zip files.
