PP USA VII: Band #5 confirmed

Freak Kitchen huh??? Just listened to the two samples on the A/V page and thought they were pretty good. Pretty funny actually!!! These guys should really tell us how they really feel though... :D

They should be pretty entertaining, from what I hear. Interesting pick!

ProgPower VII still has my attention so far... :)

Just checked the times on the site (duh Jax) & YAY I'll be right there with ya..no table for me til Saturday!! :headbang:

Its about time they get their dues. Excellent band. Very entertaining. Check out the CD's if your not familar them. You won't be disappointed.

Never heard of Freak kitchen at all...watched the two videos and the first thing that came to my mind was the guitar sound from galatic cowboys space in your face disc.......its a cool guitar sound........should be good live......

I am down with the dude that mentioned pretty maids....I have all their stuff and ohhhhhhhhhhhh would that rule.....especially until it dies song....chugga chugga

still holding out for some jorn, thunderstone or nocturnal rites too....

Mattias rocks, I can't wait to see him.

I really would never have thought they would be booked for Progpower ever...always figured them being too weird for the fest. Guess Glenn proved me wrong (in a good way) :D

You know, I've never actually heard a thing about them, and normally, when a band has a name thats just downright stupid, it's very entertaining, bordering on stupid things to obsess over..

but "Freak Kitchen"... it's just at the threshold. Not quite stupid enough to be awesome... based on the name alone, I'd have to give it a thumbs way down, just.

However, I will do the mature thing and check out their stuff.

The bull penis thing caught my attention.

(we all know nailz <3's the cock.)

Wow. Except for Wastefall, every other band booked so far was getting a lot of buzz on the forums for the last 18 months or so. It's almost as if we voted for this lineup without know it.

*GUITAR BONER*

This rules. Now I just need to buy a bunch more of their CDs. Mattias is frickin' amazing though. Similarly waiting for Jay-Dub to see this and crap himself.
Missed your post in all the excitement.....
Consider it DONE, more than ONCE! :Spin:

J-DUBYA 777 i am so stoked also, i know i almost had a freaking heart attack when i saw it, and then to learn I WAS one OF THEIR SPONSORS holy shit!!!!!! This year is going to kick ass

John

I think the ever growing Freak clan is going to have to get together for a few
drinks this year :headbang:

I've been yapping about this band since this festival started, and "discovered" them before that while trolling pre Lars Napster for some Frank Zappa stuff. There was a version of "My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Momma" that just SLAYED (I still don't know where it originates from, probably a clinic), and the rest has been all down hill. I was hoping that
conditions would be perfect for this year, and it appears that has happened.

Now all Glenn has to worry about is me humping his leg at Power Fest if I make down for that! :tickled:

When Devin played PP, I KNEW there was enough room for Freak Kitchen to play. I always thought they'd be too heavy for Nearfest or ProgFest/Day.
I'm glad that Glenn at least likes them enough to invite them to the fest!
I REALLY think a lot of people are going to be surprised by them, in a GOOD way, maybe even a few of the nay-sayers as well......

NEVER judge a band by name alone!:Spin:

Awesome news, Glenn, and congrats to the sponsors! (Although....you let Bear in. There goes the neighborhood. :tickled: )

Now I'll have to dig out the 2 or 3 Freak Kitchen CDs I already have and re-spin 'em, and get the newer ones. :headbang: :worship:

I'm listening to one of the audio samples and they're not that good at all I'm gonna say, NO

I agree, this pretty much seals my decision not to go. Not extremely thrilled with the rest of the lineup either, except for Epica.

FK seems like a fun, crazy band, from what I've heard before and have checked out after this announcement. I look forward to seeing them play and seeing how IA can play a guitar with a dildo! :loco:

oh well, maybe next year if the lineup has bands like:

Running Wild
Royal Hunt
Falconer
Jacob's Dream
Sabaton
Morgana Lefay
Astral Doors
Human Fortress
Force Of Evil
Grave Digger
Demons & Wizards
Balance Of Power
Virgin Steele
Sirenia
Nightmare
Battlelore
Lordi
Euroforce
Majesty
Time Requiem
Dream Evil
Masterplan
Bruce Dickinson
Bloodbound
etc.

Think Paul Gilbert/Mikita only with a wah pedal : )
He also has a bandolear of vibrating marital aides.
Yes, it IS scary, but it's fun! :D
