Practicing and learning instruments

I really need to get my guitar playing back up to scratch. I have a Line 6/Bogner DT25 amp sat in my living room looking pretty, like a £600 paperweight. I also have a late 80's Marshall JCM 800 2203 head that needs re-tubing and selling.
I see, and what kind of stuff do you play usually? Dream theater, or what

I play all sorts of stuff from Dream Theater to Avenged Sevenfold via Power Metal, Guns n Roses and Joe Satriani.* I’ll learn anything that has an interesting guitar part, regardless of genre.* The only stuff that really doesn't interest me is Country (apart from Bluegrass guitar) and Indie (Oasis, Mumford and Sons etc).* I’d love to be able to play funk but can’t get the mechanical strumming down.

If anyone is looking for a new amp, I can highly recommend the DT25.* I’ve played Marshall JCM 600s and 800s (I even own the fabled 2203 head), Peavey 5150 heads and loads of modelling stuff over the years.* NOTHING I've ever played comes close to the DT25 in terms of versatility and pure tone (from sparkling clean, to massively overdriven).* The fact that it can do all this at bedroom volumes is mind blowing and really shows how far technology has come since I started playing 15 years ago.
