Presonus FireStudio Help Wtf is going on...

Guys, Trying to record the Framus and 5150. But when I make a new audio track and try to record no matter how high I go on the presonus mic faders (to clipping level) the audio track in nuendo wont go above a certain volume it just clips. Like it's got a limiter set at -6db or something.

That's what I thought.

Tried new Drivers for the Presonus and it completely fucked it now.

Presonus are friggin hopeless. Im refromatting the computer anyway. And Will try from sratch.

That's a strange issue. It sounds like a consumer/pro level mismatch like you've got -10dBV gear going into +4dBu, but since the Firestudio is an all-in-one fiddly I can't make sense of it. You're correct though, Presonus and their drivers do blow.

I was planning on a fresh clean comp so I formatted XP and installed everything and made an image of it now I know how to do it. (so no more hours wasted I can just load the image in about 5 minutes :Smug.

Same Issue Still. BUT ONLY on that project.

I made a new project and started recording some guitar and no issues.

So I should be all good to go now.

Hmm strange, I have a similar limit but its a fair bit higher than yours. Is it something to do with the trim in Nuendo or something :s

that's defintily something on the nuendo side, not the presonus.

If the problem is only with that project, it's probably related to something else.

Maybe that project has fucked itself looking for your old hardware somehow Pete. I'd try and grab everything you can from the project and begin a new one. Good idea on the image by the way. I have one made that im going to load every year or in the event of disaster now. Trouble is, i change my pc about once a year anyway so bleh lol
