Pro Tools 9

YESS!

This means this will be pirated within months, which means every stupid fucker in a band WILL have Pro Tools, which will mean it will no longer be this bigger mysterious thing bands care about so much, which will mean I no longer have to give a shit!

Now onwards to being stoked for Reaper 4!!!

Man, this is awesome news. Now I have to decide what to get to replace my 002... Avid or not Avid?

And I read the CPTK 2 thing on the Avid site, but what in the world in there is worth $2,000? It seems like there isn't even anything significant lacking from just "plain" Pro Tools 9, unless I'm missing something...

They probably figure that anyone who needs those features is in the position to pay for them.

The bog standard PT9 looks powerful enough for most applications, to me.

They haven't released yet the list of included plugins.
Obviously if the basic PT9 has 3 plugins.....you need CPTK.
I know it's a fantastic news....but I haven't forgotten that it's still Avid.

This is exactly what I'm trying to figure out.

Wow,

I am now VERY interested.

Question: Is PT very picky about computer hardware?
I run a Dell Inspiron, which is kinda shitty so I'm a bit worried about forking out for PT9 only to find that I need to upgrade everything in sight just to get it to run.

Also, We've seen a lot about what the new version can do, how about someone who knows about this stuff tells us what is missing from the new base-line version?

One more thing: what the fuck does "voices" actually mean in the real world?
