One of my all time favorite bands, and I've been dying to see 'em for years. They're by far my favorite Prog Metal band, much more consistent than the more popular DT and Queensryche. I prefer their later, more introspective output over the early stuff, but it's all great. My favorite record by them is probably A Pleasant Shade of Gray. The lyrics to parts 6 and 9 sometimes describe my feelings so well that it's almost scary. They also came from Connecticut, where I'm from. It's unfortunate that they'll probably never do a proper US headline tour, but I'm glad I'll at least get to see a headline set from them once.

Anyone else excited to see 'em?

I couldn't agree more with you Metal Priest. I've seen them as an opener several times and short of going to Europe I never thought I'd get the chance to see them headline. Thanks again Glenn for pulling off nothing short of a miracle in my book!!:kickass:

My highlight was seeing them in 2001 at a local bar (I was 4 feet away) I couldn't be more excited to see them again. I wish they would put out another album soon, we need APSOG II

I've been a fan for 25 years :OMG:

Trying to go to the Jaxx on September 10th. But a lot of things hinge on the setlist and whether I actually have nothing to do at work the next freaking day.

I'm wondering when they'll officially confirm that gig. I remember when they did the European tour in '07, they said US warmup shows were a possibility, but nothing ever materialized. I think something similar happened in '06 around the time of the second OSI album. When was the last time they actually played headlining shows in the US?

I'm hoping they do a warm-up gig in NYC. I'll be starting a job in the NY area in june.

Fates did I think 2 shows in California before Rock Hard Festival in Germany in 06. I caught them at the Galaxy Theatre and holy shit was that an awesome show. The band Three opened up for them that night, one of the best shows I've ever been to.

FATES WARNING!!:kickass:

I've open for Armored Saint on the No Exit Tour, Headline the A Pleasant Shade Of Gray tour with Enchant and I saw them open for DT.

Can't wait to see them at the fest, one of my favorites! I even have them on my personal plates on my car!!

That was a great show! Fates killed it, and Three was also really good.

too bad Mark Zonder isn't with FW anymore... who's gonna be drumming? Jarzombek? NDV? someone else?

What is Zonder doing these days? Hopefully something in addition to Slaviour

Jarzombek is behind the kit. Zonder has been doing clinics and hopefully working on some new Slavior material :)

They're probably the only band at the festival proper I am excited to see. It makes up for everything else.
Really? This is by far my favorite PP line-up. As far as Fates go, I'm curious to see how Ray handles the old material. I love his work with Fates, as well as his work with Redemption. That said, has voice has changed over the years. I'm curious to see how he handles all the high notes that permeates Fates' glory years.

I've never seen the Fates, hence it's sure to be one of the highlights for me at PP this time around. Give me the early stuff!

Ahamkara,

I would highly reccommend seeing Fates Warning in Springfield. You really can't go wrong with their setlist. They always play some great tunes. Besides, Brave is opening for them, and if you haven't heard or seen that band, you really should. They are simply the most underrated band on the planet.

Stay metal. Never rust.
