To date, I haven't heard a Punk band that I didn't think was complete shit. Perhaps I've heard the wrong bands. Perhaps all Punk is shit. Hard to say.

Zod, perhaps the aesthetic that punk seeks to achieve is just contrary to the artistic requirements that satisfy your as a listener. I can seriously understand why someone would pretty much hate the genre, even if I myself think that true genius lurks in its atavistic depths.

Of the bands mentioned, Strung Out is likely to be almost listenable for you.


Favorites for me: almost all of the aforementioned bands, to be sure (DOOM!) as well as shit like the Cro-Mags, U.K. Subs, Toxic Reasons, The Clash, The Meteors, The Plasmatics. And a surprising number of new bands. What I'm happy with is this thread has produced some bands I've never heard and will be checking out very soon.

the sound of fucking AWESOME. metally d-beat, memorable riffs, just generally dark as shit! i like their vocalist as well. pretty much the best thing out of portland since agalloch
