Punk

Is that sarcastic?

Edit:Never mind. I noticed no one else did answer it.

Have you listened to much Leftover Crack?

Choking Victim and Leftover Crack are pretty much the shiznit, although they tend to go a bit overboard with their squatter image and lyrics.

I'm seeing NOFX the 27th of June, it will probably mark the highlight of my entire life. I've been worshipping those guys since I was 11.

To those of you who are into skatepunk/hardcore/melodic punk, check out my Last.fm charts for some decent recommendations.

By the way, Doomsniffer, have you checked out my punk comp?

GG Allin,Sperm Birds,Misfits, The Birthday Party, Discharge, the Pistols Rock'n Roll Swindle movie is fucking hilarious,I don't think Metal would be where it was today without some Punk influence IMO

melodic punk? :erk: ill pull a zod and refuse to listen no matter the potential. it just sounds too terrible. any of you listened to pg. 99? their earlier stuff is pretty damn sweet. if you choose to listen, listen to Document #5.

I have been digging Leftover Crack a ton lately.

Yeah, listen to Leftover Crack. Its perfect "melodic" punk if you want to call it that. It is without a doubt Ska Punk.

Picked up this Misfits boxset today. Quite rad I must say. 4 discs of material a booklet and a nifty pin.

my bro has that one, nice! be sure to get the Samhain boxset as well!! fucking awesome stuff
not to mention all the unbelievable crossover bands ie, D.R.I,Suicidal,Vio-lence, Hail!

Op Ivy is cool when I'm in a ska type mood. Also listen to some Rancid. I grew up on punk and that actually infulenced me to listen to metal because alot of the bands I liked and went to their shows, started moving more in that direction..ie Suicidal, DRI, GBH ect... I guess the better they got on guitar the more solos, hence metal... :p My only problem sometimes is that its hard going from 1-2 min songs to like 10 min ones sometimes :)

dorian is too sophisticated for punk but I recognize all the bands mentioned here.

best punk-related album ever IMO, though it's more complex and "scholarly" than most of the punk production, but the raw energy and abrasiveness is unmistakable. Tom Cora's Eastern Europe inspired cello work is just priceless on there.

I realized recently that my punk collection is fucking woeful - only about 12 albums, and that's even counting some questionable stuff like "London Calling." When I get some money, I think I'm going to purchase the following:

MINOR THREAT - The Complete Discography
THE GERMS - (GI)
BLACK FLAG - Damaged
THE DAMNED - Machine Gun Etiquette
THE RAMONES - Rocket To Russia

Would these give me some cred?
