question about DFHS

this is probably a dumb question but..how does it work? is it midi controlled or what?

Yes it is. you just load it into your daw, asign it to a miditrack and bob's your uncle

You get the 9 DVD's, you copy all of the samples over to your hard drive, you install the plug-ins and updates, then you open your host program and add a MIDI track. Then you insert DFHS as the instrument (different ways of doing that depending on your host), then you program MIDI which triggers the samples via the plug-in (Drummer, Percussionist, or Cocktail). Bounce, mix, add guitars, bass, vocals...kick BFD's ass.

so if im using pro tools it would go through rewire or something? kinda like reason?

Yes, in ProTools you need to use the ReWire version that DFHS comes with.
