Hi guys...

Just interested to know how you 'feel' when it comes to writing new material?
Is it something you approach with a bit of trepidation or does the idea of putting new songs together excite you. Does it get 'harder' with each new album or does the process itself get easier over time?

Cheers in advance :kickass:

It's a combination of both. It's exciting to create new material because that's normally a big part of the fun of being in a band like this. It's very gratifying when a new song is done and you hear it completed for the first time. We very much enjoy creating new albums...

On the other hand, it does get harder with each new album, to come up with new ideas, new directions, without completely abandoning the sound and style you've already established. You also run the risk of repeating yourselves because ultimately there are only so many different beats and tunings and tempos you can use without getting too "out there."

It gets easier in terms of getting better over time at working together as writers and performers, and you get more accustomed to the studio and start to formulate more complete ideas of what you want to do in the studio because you've had the experience now. But generally I have to say that overall, each new album we do gets tougher and tougher, not least of which because we get more and more critical and picky about what we think is acceptible. We're pretty hard on ourselves when it comes to our writing. We've been harder on ourselves this time around than ever before.
