It looks like some people who loved Flies aren't as into this one. Let's say I was less than bowled over with Flies myself. Might I have a better chance getting into this one? The descriptions of more clean vocals and straightforward riffs could be a good thing, as long as those ingredients are being used to build good songs with strong melodic statements.

You may be. I loved their 1st cd, took me a bit to get into Flies but after a few listens loved it, took a few for the new one but now I'm really liking it. Less growls and just more straight forward and less complex. Still Raintime just mixing it up a bit. For 8-9 bucks, I think it was worth it.
