Just wondering what people here like by them. The only ones I'm really familiar with are Dark Sage and Something Wicked This Way Comes.

there was a time when I said the same thing. But Gene Adams is the singer they started with and had for several years on the local scene. As a matter of fact, until recently he was still singing with the original lineup (sans original drummer) - Unearthed

Just because Matt Barlow is not in Iced Earth anymore doesn't mean he's dead. He's doing what he wants to do, which should garner nothing but respect.

IMO, Alive in Athens and The Glorious Burden is all you need from this band. I'm not a die hard though.

Alive in Athens is ranked up there with Live After Death to these ears.

I agree that Alive In Athens and Days of Purgatory will give you the best 'selection' of IE materials (along with the new "The Blessed & The Damned" compilation discs).
