The Trees is a great track. Hemispheres is probably my favorite Rush album of them all.

To be honest im really confused the the track names, they are diff on the back of the cd to what they are in itunes. But the only readon i could think of is for cd quality, its a long cd and it could have fucked it up? Pink Floyd have done the same thing with Shine on...... 1-5 and 6-9, and ive never seen why they didnt devide it up, and the this cd is another one i dont get.

I like your new avatar to, and the names Chris by the way :)

Fav Rush track here, the trees.

sorry, chris haha, i'm brian.

i think you may have misunderstood my Q though, regarding frances..

song 1: long song, NOT divided into tracks
song 2: not long song
song 3: not long song
song 4: long song, divided into tracks
song 5: long song, divided into tracks

^ why is that, is my Q haha.

as for the titles differing on itunes, whatever it says doesn't matter, the cd is the right one :-D, possibly they were named before the cd was released, and were just incorrect.

yea, i think its safe to say 99.99999% of the time, the cd tracklisting will always be the accurate one compared to any mp3 database if theres a conflict.

my Goblin - Buio Omega soundtrack CD came in the mail today, im very happy. If anyone has seen this movie...youll know what a cool soundtrack they did for this...if not...definitely try to check it out. Its american title is called "Beyond The Darkness"...very creepy, gorey and atmospheric/depressing shit...top quality italiano horror. ;)

hmm, sounds cool, thanks joey. i rented suspiria, knowing goblin did the sndtk for it (and to this day, it's their only work i've heard, but i like it very much). as for the movie suspiria, it was alright, nothing great though. but i just added beyond the darkness to my netflix queue.

I really love Suspiria, the colours and the music, are such a juxtopostion. Italian horror has be be the best genre of movie out there. Favourite goblin song though is the theme to Zombie, if Zombies ever walk the earth im going to drive round listening to that while stupid people die.

'Suspira' is excellent, Has anyone seen 'Tenebre' another Argento movie its got another cool score from Goblin. great use of a church organ in the soundtrack

Sorry yeah I mean Zombi (the one time I spell something right - but dawn of the dead is awesome to). Not the best Fulci film but the theme kicks ass.

Havent seen Tenebre, I have only seen Suspiria, Opera, and one of his newer ones with midgets and cats.

Yes, ive seen tenebre. I actually own every Argento, Fulci, D'Amato, Bava, etc etc film thats been released on DVD...italian horror has been my film collecting passion for several years now.

Tenebre was made in the early 80s, but for several reasons i feel its among Argento's best works. The soundtrack is of course top notch...one of Goblin's shining moments...along with Deep Red and Beyond The Darkness.

The final scene in Tenebre alone is worth the price of admission...when you see it, youll know what im talking about. ;)

haha man, as i've said before, due to that cd purchase thread (whether fans buy or dl music) i've turned into a cd buying machine. i started to feel guilty that i dl a ridiculous amount of albums, and rarely buy any cds. so since the beginning of '05..i just tallied it up, i've purchased 16 cds..whereas before in that period of time i may have bought 1..possibly 2.

haha that's including my purchase today priest - AoR, has the bonus dvd on the other side (dualdisc) and shit i'm gonna check out later. also, waiting for 'saucerful of secrets' , 'diabolical masquerade - nightwork', and 'absu - tara' in the mail.

good for you brian. i mean...its not so much about guilt...as just supporting your favorite bands...and bridging the gap between the artist and the fan. and pride of ownership of music you love. thats how i see it anyway. i actually havent bought that many albums yet this year...most of the ones i want im still waiting for to get released....but im fiending as it is. ;)

I've just done a study on Argento at college, he truly is a master. But I don't like the way in 'Phenomena','Opera' and numerous other of his films he uses metal music, it turns horror to cheese.

well, maybe its just his choice of metal songs? for instance...Flash of the blade by iron maiden isnt exactly the most serious or fitting song for any movie imo.

but by the same token...goblin wouldnt be 98% of director's first choices as a musical score for a film either. :p

^ I heard he wanted Pink Floyd to score his films, but he settled for Goblin
lol

his wife (daria nicolodi) actually convinced him to use them...she wasnt his wife at the time i dont beleive...she starred in quite a few italian horror films of his, and others like mario bava as well.

Flash of the blade is an awesome song, from the best Iron Maiden album.

Kubrick wanted Pink Floyd to score 2001 (and Clockwork i think), but they turned it down, which is a shame because Obscured by clouds (a score for another movie, the valley) is a really good album.

In regards to Argento's use of metal music, i think he is using it in the sence that metal music is mostly a white male thing involving power over women. And since there is so much violence towards women in his films (the needle eye bit from Opera comes to mind) i think metal music in its cliched form works.

Have any of you guys seen the Goblin music video for Suspiria, its hilarious. Its just the band playing in a smoke filled room trying to act scary.

@NFU: have you seen 'The bird with the Crystal Plumage' or 'Cat O nine tails', I haven't seen these two and I was wondering whether they are any good?
