rare prog from early 70s

Just got Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink and Paatos - Kallocain the other day, and enjoying them both. I didn't even realise that SW produced the Paatos album until i was looking through the booklet. Hehehe and it made me laugh to then see Akerfeldt thanked as well....what, does he follow SW round or something?

Ahhhh, that explains it. And im going to go out on a limb and guess that afaik = as far as i know?

How does the other Paatos cd compare?

i like it a lot more than kallocain personally. but theyre fairly different, so its hard to compare one to the other anyway. But i love them both...the first one more so.

I realized that there is a record store on my street yesterday. And I bought Camel - A live Record and Rain Dances, Al Dimeola - Casino and Vangelis - Greatest Hits vinyls from there... I was sure I can't ever get such stuff from Estonia...

Agreed. Despite the fact that some of the lyrics make me cringe, Timeloss is an awesome album, and the instrumental stuff more than makes up for whatever misteps they make lyrically.

paatos is definitely one of those bands that on their debut they might have done better with all swedish lyrics. it seems maybe theyre not entirely comfortable with the full english vocabulary? Either way, kallocain's lyrics are a great deal better probably...but timeloss' music i enjoyed a bit more.

if you like the guitar in kallocain, check out peter nylander's solo album which just came out....called "peter nylander quartet - eyes open". Its jazz, but very well done...and semi reminiscent melodies of kallocain in a way.

nine feet: have you checked yr mail recently? do you still have that glory email? ive sent you something

yes, i received the emails...but unfortunately the files are too big for aol to let me open or something. ive been using my brother's computer lately, which is crap, and has very little space and speed...so maybe thats the problem too. Ill try to figure it out. Thank you for the songs regardless though.

try to download them as attachments or something..
if you can do shit with aol, i can send you to some gmail address or something. yet it will take another hour or two for the whole upload

i am downloading them as attachments. but aol only allows a certain size file to be downloaded in emails i believe.

Recent picks:

Alamaailman Vasarat - Vasaraasia // Insane jazzy circus-prog. Entirely acoustic (minus the occasional dist on the cello), eastern melodies, instrumental. Recommended for the adventurer.

Bo Hansson - Ur Trollkarlens hatt (Magician's Hat) // I like this more than "Lord of the Rings", a more mature sound with somewhat more experimental instrumental compositions.

I saw Alamaailman Vararat a few years ago and they were crazy... I first heard a sample and was scared by the heavy-ness of the guitars. When I saw them I was confused because they weren't any guitars then I saw that they were cellos and was shocked... I didn't know you could do that..
