rare prog from early 70s

Well... about green carnation, the light of day,... album is pretty boring to me though the sample(7min for download at their website is pretty impressive). Their earlier album Journey to the End of the Night however has on of my favourite tracks ever, "Falling into Darkness".

Has anyone heard a band called Circles End? I've not, but from the reviews it seems quite interesting - similar to Camel, Gentle Giant, Echloyn... yet unique, or so they say.

im not a fan of green carnation. as for "circles end", ive heard the name, but ive also learned not to buy into the "sounds like camel, blah blah" stuff many labels use, its often innacurate. To the point where any band with a moog solo, or acoustic guitar is labeled as sounding like gentle giant or camel. Either way, check them out and let me know if theyre good.

you are obviously a big fan of the land of grey and pink by caravan, what about 'if i could do it...', how good is that one? i amt hinking about getting some caravan but they are hella expensive because i gotta import them so i wanna have some opinion on them and maybe a description would be nice

Its awesome...."if i could do it all over again" is a close 2nd place to in the land of grey and pink. I highly recommend checking it out as well. If youd like, i could send you some tracks over instant messenger...just drop me a line.

and on a side note...anyone get any new albums lately? ive been listening to Porcupine Tree - Recordings a lot...and quite a bit of atheist. as well as the cynic re-release/remaster...the new bonus tracks are fantastic.

ooh, some great selections. wigwam is highly underrated...and gentle giant and mahavishnu are always classic.

Mahavishnu, Return to Forever, and Weather Report all grew out of Miles Davis' great electric period and compared to Bitches Brew and Jack Johnson, leave me a bit cold. I think many progressive metal fans would find much to like about Bitches Brew. It's not obscure, but still great.

i dont think the s/t is a perfect record, but its quite good. however at this point i think i might prefer mirage to moondmadness. id have to probably listen side by side at this point.

yep, new avatar time. IQ had a few songs i thought were decent, but generally im not into all the 80s prog scene...a little to synthetic and rehashed i find. for modern stuff i look to the vintage styled contemporaries...usually more vision and innovation. As for suggestions...i beleive their debut is still hailed to be the best. Also check out early Marillion if you like IQ.
