Raven Black Night/Deadthings

Indeed it will fucking rool!

Preceded by Imminent Psychosis as well!

And what else will rool?

What I'm wearing! :headbang:

Been waiting for tonight for a long ass time, cannot FUCKING wait! :kickass:

In Town. North Tce...off memory no. 68...how the fuck do i know that :kickass:

Yeah, sori it was in Adelaide.

Good show, wasnt the greatest night, the venue closed up straight after the last band all the bar stools were on the bar before they even finished playing. Adelaide's been a bit dead lately...

Deadthings were good and so was Raven & IP, the later really suprised me - what a killer opening track - totally shredding.

It was great to meet Trixxi; didnt get to chat with Lancey but Trix pointed you and your red pants out! Heheh, no doubt our paths will cross eventually at the bar.

Sorry guys for not playing Look what the Cat Dragged In but the venue pulled the plug on me before I could get it on.

Next time...

Yeah I had a blast!

Was awesome to catch up with Trixx and the boys. They played a killer set and so did Imminent (from what I saw).. those boys are really good at what they do. A shame not as many people stuck around for Raven, but they went off all the same. Smashing the acoustic guitar was awesome... gee we attacked the remains with the swords too. Still got a piece at home.

Yeah, sucked how they stopped serving beers... I was so thirsty, I went up to the Enigma but the doors were all closed! Realising there wasn't any other place that I knew about where I could walk in and have a beer by myself without being ridiculed for what I was wearing, I went up to Hungry George's and realised that it'd be a while before the Deadthings were ready to hit the town, so I headed home.

I thought there wasn't that many wankers in Adelaide, but it turns out there are if you're by yourself. I'm cool with the shouts of "Axl!" (in fact, I love it!) but none of that Saturday night. It was all "ARE U A BOI OR GIRL? I FUCK U ANYWAY HAHAHA" by trendy wogs and the like. So close to stopping one time, because I knew they wouldn't have been expecting it and probably would've been intimidated by a guy with skin tight red pants, a leather jacket and a Dokken shirt coming up to them.

But the bands were awesome! And I picked up The Deadthings' newy as well, which is fucking AWESOME. Dave Scythe does a lot of the writing this time round and fuck he's good.

Cemetery Mary, you're the girl of my dreams..

Oh yeah, there is a hell of a lot of wankers in Adelaide! Dont worry about the losers Lance, they're just a bunch of sheep.

Enigma was closed due to the Enchanted Forest.

If the crowd were partying up, Fowlers were gonna have me carry on spinnin' into the night but it turned out to be a quiet crowd.

Ahh, so you were djing? Interesting choice of songs I must say!

Putting on Slayer before The Deadthings and then Van Halen before Raven Black Night.

Although, I had a strong feeling that Top Jimmy was put on because of Jimmy from Raven? I asked him and he hadn't even heard the song before! Haha.

I'd been wanting to play that VH song before Raven for some time now. I forgot to ask him what he thought of it.
Suprised to hear he didnt know of it, cool you picked it though!

Actually, it wasnt me all the time and I wasnt on before the Deadthings. I didnt end up playing much at all so that was a bit of a bummer but I'm looking forward to doing more live Metal DJ stuff in the future...

Hey guys, it was great to see ya both on Saturday nite! I'd gotten myself a bit drunk by the end of the night but I had a good time! It was a bit of a quiet night but the Adelaide crowds are always appreciative and it was great to see so many people singing along to all the words too. Hope ya liked the 2 covers we threw in... It was the first time we played "I Wanna Rock", even Stoney who came with us from Melb had no idea we were gonna play it.

While the crowds in Adelaide are always appreciative, it's a shame I can't say the same about the people on the streets. Its a very narrowminded city outside of the venue you're playing. Honestly I think I've been on the end of more rude comments & abuse in the 4 times I have visited Adelaide than I have in 23 years in Melbourne... Nobody ever says anything here, no matter what you look like. It's kinda like everybody just HAS to say something, they can't not be a smart ass and make a comment. We decided to not even bother going out afterwards this time, because last time it just wasn't worth it.

^^ I hear ya.

I'm definitely gonna have to come over to Melb for a gig and to party it up with you boys!

Heh. I noticed that when I was there too, back in 99. I was in Rundle Mall with a female friend (who now lives in Sydney) and she was getting all kinds of stares from people. Then, a grandmother with a little girl came up to her and said "It's really nice to see someone who stands out from the crowd a bit!" or words to that effect. We both thought that was rather cool. You have to remember that Adelaide is really a glorified country town, with very country attitudes and is also the "moral majority" capitol of Australia. Which is the perfect place for a band called Jesus Anal Penetration to hail from. :)

Too true... Adelaide is just a bigger Mildura.

So if you're wondering what Mildura is like, go to Adelaide and shrink it down times 10.

I also hate the metal scene down here. While there is awesome people who are all very nice and friendly, they're too lazy to go to fucking gigs. Except this guy named Daniel and his Polish mate Jari, I think they goes to every gig that they possibly can. Champions. Every time I go to a gig they're there.

Anywho, I have forgotten why I was posting this.

Oh yeah, Adelaide blows in terms of people. But at least I looked awesome :headbang:

It is? Great, you've just given me another reason to high tail it out of here faster than the Road Runner with a bumful of dynamite :). Sigh, at least another three years to go...

SA can be quite conservative in some ways (they don't call Adelaide "the city of churches" for nothin' unfortunately) but in terms of education and the arts we're a bit more progressive, thankfully not in the Dream Theater sense of the word. I could have many a career opportunity here if I wanted to, but I know if I don't get away sometime in the foreseeable future I'll go stark raving bugfuck .

FYI, the MP leading the charge against Big Brother at the moment (and against every other faintly controversial thing on TV, which she has a history of doing) is one Trish Draper. This self-appointed Mary Whitehouse clone hails from Adelaide, holds the seat of Maikin and once when she wasn't busy minding everyone else's business, stole money from her electorate to fund a holiday with her boyfriend! As Bart Simpson would say, the ironing is delicious.
