Raventale - for fans of "post Burzum" stuff like Drudkh

Not to come off sounding like some kind of hessian from 1989, but: TOO MUCH KEYBOARDS!!!! Drudkh is so cool because all their stuff is just layers of guitars. Otherwise, it sounds good enough, but *someone* has to bring the slobberfest down a notch (and plus, if the poor guy got any more orders, he'd probably think it's just some kids fuckin' with him!)

Ordered! I started downloading it but the comments seemed so positive I just cancelled it and ordered it instead. Sounds exactly like the sort of stuff I like...

Enjoying this, but not as much as the hype machine led me to believe I would. I hear Drudkh combined with a slower tempo version of Rapture. At times the atmosphere is killer, but it just becomes a tedious listen after awhile and I found myself struggling to get through the whole album in one sitting.

In the right frame of mind I could see it being highly enjoyable, but expect more of a quiet, melancholic day in the forest rather than a platter of emotions.

I set up a PayPal account today specifically to buy it from Ars Magna. It's that good.

I knew by the end of the first track that I needed to buy it.

I just bought it.

I listened to two songs and I ordered this bitch! I think I might like this even more than Drudkh.

Yeah, I bought this too.

I just bought it.

I salute any band who isn't on myspace.

5 in the last DAY.

Actually, make that 6.

Ordered without hearing it first.

holy fuck. this stuff has Win written all over it!!

Woooah, it's a Raventale wildfire.

If that isn't 5 stars, I don't know what is. :kickass:

^^Yea seriously.

Goddamn if this whole CD dosent ooze the atmosphere I get from Autumn Aurora- from the intro, to the layers of guitars, even some of the drumming patterns.

I was just saying in some email, if ~Neurotica didn't post the samples, it's likely that NONE of us would have ever discovered this band. Like I said, no website, no myspace, no label (I presume it's a self-release).

Actually, it no longer shows up on their page. So, I'm guessing the web page tracks actual inventory.

Cool - thanks for the heads up

EDIT - LMAO, I *just* got this email minutes ago:

"Greetings Jason and thank you for the order!

Unfortunately we ran out of the Raventale cd earlier today (I literally received 11 orders for it in the past 12 hours). So, we have a few options:

- I can refund your $9 for that title

- You can substitute something else (I just updated the site, everything is current)

- I can issue you a credit

- I can refund the order

I have a message in to the label that released Raventale letting them know that I need more copies. I should know within 24 hours if I will be able to get more. I apologize for any inconvenience. We’ve never had this issue before but we’ve also never received 11 orders for an album in a week let alone a day.

Let me know what you prefer and I will take care of it."

Wow. I'm glad you liked this stuff so much. Btw, Astaroth (the Raventale guy) says that he's working on a new album right now. So I guess we're going to have good news soon.

OK so that answers that, they're on a label. (Or it's just a distro)

Jason, when you respond to that e-mail, can you ask them which label?
