Really far-fetched riff similarity

I know this is dumb, but every time I listen to Moonlapse Vertigo and I get to the little doodle at 4:46 (approx) I think of the Iron Maiden song Wasted Love which has a very similar doodle at 2:06.

Flame away... but be gentle. I think I'm just depressed because I have to wait until the very last show of the tour (2/28) to see them. I can't wait!!

1. I know they're both Opeth songs, but these two sound pretty similar. I like BRI better, but only by a little bit.

2. I know Opeth borrowed it. They are different chords, but it's the same idea.

"Wasting Love" is off of Fear of the Dark.

For years, certain parts of Opeth songs would sometimes remind me of Maiden.

Oh, and if similarities are to be discussed, listen to the pre-chorus guitar lick in Shadows Fall's "Thoughts Without Words" and then listen to Pantera's "Medicine Man."

One of Opeth's coolest riffs, The Funeral Portrait main riff, is exactly the same as the part in Dream Theater's Another Day, leading into the solo (Which is awesome btw)

The riff in Moonlapse Vertigo that starts at 0.47 reminds me of 4.01 in The Drapery Falls. Listen to it, it's like exactly the same tune.
