and also, i saw a John petrucci signature model guitar, for $700. but one problem, it had a huge chunk or paint missing.

Well that all depends if you're sitting or standing. Personally, the best playing guitar sitting would have to be a Warrior, and that's one of the most non-traditional looking body styles as it is. The neck just "hovers" at the right playing height. On a traditional style guitar, the neck will drop if released....

A KV style guitar is similar...

But it's all personal preference though.

Yeah, the warrior was always a cool looking guitar, never played one though. A stealth I played on once I recall being quite nice feeling for its odd shape. The most unwieldly guitar is a full sized gibson V. I don't like 'em.

If it was the 7 string version with the additional piezo pickup for simulated acoustics $700 is a steal paint chipped or no...those things run like $14-1600, last I checked.
