My old cat years ago was basically shredded up when he decided to crawl up the underneath front end of my dad's truck and eventually find the engine I guess while the truck was running, my Dad was leaving for work and took off, and you can probably guess what happened. He was a tough cat though, he was once dropped by my sister four stories out a window and not even injured.
