reason #17 why i usually stay away from the opeth board

Ugh. That cant even accept any fucking critiscm. I honestly think everyone shares the opinion that if you dont like an opeth album, your tone deaf and deserve to die. Talk about ineptitude.

I bet he's the kind of guy who buys a ferrari, and only drives it to the local supermarket. Whereas Opeth fans like to go as many places as they can and enjoy the ride whilst not caring where there meant to be going. Whats more fun?
Hmmmm...me and my mates are sometimes partial to random mishes in our cars...does that mean that Phil Collins, Poison and Funeral For A Friend fans are on the same mental level as Opeth fans? :loco:

This forum is provided (and paid for) by Opeth for discussion about the band's music and performances. Please refrain from using it for anything else.

I love that when people say "only talk about Opeth here!" because it's painfully obvious they weren't around for the days of the Chat/Off-topic portion of that ridiculous board. :loco:

I'd venture to say 95% of the threads in the archives of the Opeth forum have NOTHING to do with the band, or even music.

Isn't that the case with every forum anyway? If you only stick to the band itself you run out of things to discuss pretty damn quickly.

Especially when it's obvious that the Opeth only rule is not being enforced and the board is largely unmoderated...and what also annoys me is that Steven Wilson gets blamed for ruining for Opeth every time his name is mentioned...I've even seen him referred to as the Yoko Ono of Opeth. I have no problem with people saying Opeth sucked after (insert album here), but try to put more effort into your arguments.

His biggest influence is on the Damnation CD, and I really don't like that one at all. Otherwise, I don't mind the other Opeth albums whether he was involved or not. It's all still more Opeth sounding as it is Porcupine Tree.
